Monster and Adidas liked what they saw from the fruits of their partnership last year, so they’re keeping the good times rolling at CES 2015. After last year’s Adidas Originals headphones, fashioned after Adidas’ casual fashion line, the two companies are once again joining forces for a new line of fitness headphones, Adidas Performance by Monster.
Unlike the lifestyle-focused Adidas Originals headphones, the Adidas Performance headphones are built for the gym and the track. This year, the line will launch with four units, including two in-ear clip-on models and two earbud-style earphones. The Adidas Performance Adistar Bluetooth ACT by Monster ($150) are one of the former, and feature Monster audio partnered with integration into Adidas’ miCoach, a suite of fitness training apps. Specifically, you’ll be able to control music being played on the earphones from a miCoach app. The cheaper Adidas Performance Supernova ACT by Monster ($100) are not wireless and leave off the miCoach functionality, but still have the usual Apple ControlTalk On-Cable Mic.
The two pairs of earbud-style earphones, the Adidas Performance Response by Monster ($60) and the Adidas Performance Response by Monster ($50), will both come in color combinations that match the performance apparel that Adidas puts out, so if you want to go full Adidas, this is how you do it. Everything in the Adidas Performance by Monster line is scheduled to be available online and in stores this March.
