Finally, a phone to match your Coachella outfit. With the help of supermodel Jourdan Dunn and artist Cally-Jo (of Rihanna body art fame), HTC is giving us a limited edition One M9 with a body art-inspired design etched into the back as part of their HTC INK campaign.
I say Coachella because, with my limited art vocabulary, that really is the best way I can find to describe the style of the etched design. It looks vaguely tribal, has astrological imagery, and has a single eye featured prominently, so it pretty much goes down the checklist. Dunn, a body art aficionado, worked with Cally-Jo to create the design, which Dunn wore as temporary metallic art for a photo shoot with Matt Irwin to promote the new phone.
If you don’t like this design but like the idea, stay tuned — it sounds like this won’t be the last HTC INK phone. HTC is planning on releasing a whole line of limited edition INK phones over the coming year, with more celebrity partnerships and body art designs. If the present design is working for you, you can head over the register your interest in obtaining one on HTC’s site. From the registration page, it seems like this might be limited to people who already own an HTC device, though — the form asks you for the HTC device you currently own and when your present contract expires, so we’re guessing HTC will arrange to slip in the limited edition INK phone as your next phone upgrade.
