If you’re looking to get an up-front discount on Microsoft’s tablet-first version of the Surface (which thankfully runs Windows 8.1, abandoning the RT experiment), the 4G LTE version is coming to AT&T and subsidized pricing this month.
Come this Friday, July 24, you’ll be able to get the Surface 3 from AT&T in one of four ways. You can get it on a tablet installment plan for $0 up front and $30 per month for 20 months. You can also go the old school route and get one with a two-year contract for $500, or dispense with the strings altogether and buy one outright for $600. There’s also a Lumia Smartphone Bundle available which will net you the Surface 3 and any Lumia smartphone for $400. Inventory clearing? Inventory clearing.
Not bad deals, but, as it eternally is with tech, there’s probably something better around the corner – it’s a good bet Microsoft has new devices prepped for the Lumia and Surface lines as part of their Windows 10 push, which is set to become available in just a little over a week on July 29.
