Halo 5: Guardians is just one month away, but this is the fifth one — you’re on the Halo bandwagon or you’re not at this point. So, if you’ve got your preorder squared away and your week-long excuse for missing work perfected, it’s time to move on to the next step — the merch. Halo is no Star Wars, but even a month out from release on October 27, we’re still seeing a decent amount of merch coming out to celebrate Master Chief’s fifth outing. So, get those wallets out and keep them out, because we’ll be updating this post as we find new stuff for you to blow money on!
Mega Bloks Sets
Mega Bloks has to win sometimes. We’ve seen Lego snap up an incredible number of licenses recently, but it’s rival Mega Bloks making the Halo sets. Their 2015 collection is vehicle-heavy, with a Warthog, a Ghost, a Phaeton Gunship, and a Scorpion tank. All of the sets come with mini poseable action figures of Spartans, the Covenant, or Prometheans, along with articulated details on the vehicles themselves, like rotating turrets and moving treads on the tank. Well, besides the Ghost, there’s not much you can do with a Ghost outside of running people over on Xbox Live. Sets range from $10 to $55 and are all available now.
McFarlane Toys Action Figures
Wave one of McFarlane’s action figures launched this spring and included 6″ figures of Master Chief, Locke, gold/steel Athlon Spartan armor, Tanaka, Kelly, and Fred, leaving us wondering when Linda would be coming to round out Blue Team. Well, wave two was unveiled a couple of weeks ago, and Linda’s still not here! I don’t know what’s up, but I’m worried for Linda’s safety come game launch. Wave two does include Buck, HERMES armor, a Helljumper in gold and steel, and red Athlon armor. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for wave three — meanwhile, wave one and wave two are on Entertainment Earth for $128 and $60, but the former is currently sold out and the latter doesn’t ship until February.
