The Huawei Watch was one of last year’s better Android Wear smartwatches, but it definitely wasn’t one of the most customizable — Huawei had a limited selection of bands and cases and only sold their watch in a handful of preset configurations. At CES 2016, Huawei added a couple options for women, and they’re looking fantastic.
The Huawei Watch Jewel and Huawei Watch Elegant are the two new additions, which are the same inside as last year’s Huawei Watch. The dimensions are slightly larger, which isn’t great for smaller wrists, but it’s not too bad considering the original Huawei Watch was the same size as the women’s Moto 360. Besides, the added size is for good reason — to make room for Swarovski! Well, on the Jewel, anyway — that model features a rose gold-plated case with 68 Swarovski Zirconia crystals encircling the watch face. The Elegant is just about the same, only with a knurled pattern where the Swarovski crystals are on the Jewel.
Both watches will come with several exclusive watch faces designed to go with the new cases and bands. The images we’ve seen so far are gorgeous, although we’re keenly aware that what those watch faces look like in reality never quite measures up to what’s shown on promotional materials. Even still, these watches look like some of the more beautiful wearables of any kind.
Huawei is pairing these two new models with two new bands. They’re both genuine Italian leather, one white and one blue. It sounds like you’ll be able to pair the band you want with the case you want when the Jewel and Elegant become available sometime in March for $600 and $500, respectively.
