Now you can have your very own drone help you get the best shot on your camera. GoPro has produced the Karma, a foldable flying drone that will help make your handheld shots super steady. In fact, one GoPro engineer promised it has “Hollywood stability anywhere you take it.” And don’t worry, you don’t have to be a genius to operate the Karma. According to engadget, you can control its direction with just a few taps on the screen. There are only two main physical buttons on the remote, one to start and stop the drone, and another to have it return to its original launch point. The downside? Karma’s battery only lasts about 20 minutes and extra batteries cost from $100–$150.
The company also announced the launch of the GoPro Hero 5 and Hero 5 Session during a live-stream on Facebook this week. “Hero 5 Black is the GoPro we’ve always wanted to make, and it’s taken 14 years, but we’re here,” said Nick Woodman, founder and CEO of GoPro. The company is calling it their best camera ever because it includes 4K video, voice control, is waterproof, has a touch screen and is very easy to use. The Hero 5 Session is also a very durable (it’s waterproof) and strong model, as well as user friendly.
It is being priced at $799 solo, or $999 and $1,099, if you get it along with the Hero5 Session or Hero5 Black. It will be available on October 23rd.
