Thinking about giving the gift of Beats this year? As of last week, you’ve got one more option, and it’s the most feel-good option yet. In partnership with Product Red, the Apple-owned audio company is adding a citrus red colorway to their Solo3 Wireless headphones and Pill+ Bluetooth wireless speaker.
The Beats Solo3 Wireless headphones were announced at the iPhone 7 launch in September. The next generation of Beats’ slimmer, travel-friendly on-ear headphones have Apple’s new W1 wireless chip, which helps sync them seamlessly across all Apple devices owned by one user. The Beats Pill+ is the updated version of the company’s pill-shaped portable wireless speaker, which we thought offered far improved audio quality compared to the first generation Pill.
Product Red has been around since 2006, and has been responsible for a lot of red colorways over the years. Their trademark red is associated with their work with the Global Fund in raising money for AIDS research. As usual, some part of the revenue earned from sales of the red Beats will be donated to the Global Fund. The Product Red Beats Solo3 Wireless and Beats Pill+ will still retail for the same prices from the Apple store, at $300 and $230 respectively.
