The ’90s just can’t stop coming back. Now, we’ve got both Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher back in the world of Superman! Dean Cain, who played Clark Kent/Superman in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman in the mid ’90s, appeared during the first season of Supergirl as Supergirl’s adopted father (and from the sounds of things this season, he hasn’t made his last appearance). This week, they got his other half. Teri Hatcher, who played Lois Lane in the ’90s series, is officially signed on to appear in multiple episodes later this season.
Like Cain, she won’t be reprising her role. It won’t be a cameo, either — reports are that she’ll be playing the major villain of the second half of this season. Given that Cain’s character, Jeremiah Danvers, is supposedly being held at Project Cadmus, it sounds like this would be a sure way to reunite the two on-screen, which would be an awesome treat for anyone who remembers Lois & Clark fondly.
These Superman alums can’t seem to quit the DC universe! Hatcher also appeared as Lois Lane’s mother, Ella, in a brief appearance on Smallville. Meanwhile, Supergirl has been doing a solid job of rounding up DC stars from the past in general, with Lynda Carter coming on the play the president. Leaves us wondering who will show up next — just a reminder, don’t expect it to be Tom Welling.
