With HBO’s Game of Thrones heading into its second-to-last season (and last full season), matters are going to have to come to a head soon. Daenerys needs to bring her dragons to Westeros, the White Walkers need to get past The Wall, and Jon and Cersei need to figure out what to do about it. From the season seven trailer, it looks like everyone else will just be playing their game.

The trailer focuses on that final four (well, mostly just Dany, Jon, and Cersei — the Night’s King comes in at the end as a dark horse). The human trio makes long walks of power (no shame this time), with Jon taking the seat of power in Winterfell, Dany arriving at Dragonstone, and Cersei still in charge of the Iron Throne. Cersei takes a frosty breath, giving fans a little something to talk about — it refers to the White Walkers either way, but could Cersei end up making a deal with them? Is it even possible to make a deal with the Night’s King? He doesn’t seem like one for negotiations, but I guess anything is possible.
The quartet is on a collision course, and while the bulk of that collision will probably be seen in the six-episode season eight to come, we’re sure to see a lot of action in season seven. We’ll also have to see what happens to the other would-be contenders — Littlefinger didn’t seem that enthusiastic about Jon in Winterfell. Someone’s probably going to die over it, so expect business as usual.
