ZTE always seems to be able to put a mean deal together with Cricket Wireless, and this year is no different. Starting tomorrow, the AT&T network operator will start carrying the 6″ Blade X Max for a special price of $99 for anyone porting in a number from another service.
$100 is a pretty good price for the hardware. The Blade X Max has a 6″ 1080p TFT display and runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 SoC, 2 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of storage (plus a microSD card slot supporting up to 128 GB cards). The Snapdragon 435 includes a 1.4 GHz octa-core CPU, so while it won’t be a very powerful phone, it should still be very efficient. With a 3,400 mAh battery, this is a phone that should last well over a day easily, and the phone does feature Quick Charge 2.0.
This being ZTE, audio isn’t just the bare minimum (even on a budget device). They have used Dolby Audio processing with the phone’s speakers, which is a nice addition at this price. On the back, there’s a 13 MP camera with LED flash and a fingerprint sensor. On the front, there’s a 5 MP front camera that uses the display as a flash.
Starting tomorrow, the phone will be $99 for anyone who comes to a Cricket store willing to port over a number from another service. Otherwise, the ZTE Blade X Max will sell for $150.
