Nintendo made some awesome game announcements at E3 this week, but they’re never going to forget about their line of Amiibo figurines! And, from the looks of what they unveiled this week, they are getting incredibly good at this figurine thing.
Nintendo is releasing four new Amiibo for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild — one for each of the champions in the game. They’re being released to celebrate the upcoming arrival of the first DLC pack for the game, which includes a new quest called the Champion’s Ballad. That means we’ve got Mipha, Urbosa, Daruk, and Revali, and they all look terrific. They’re all holding the heroic weapons that Link picks up (and breaks a lot) during the game, and they’ve all got their light blue champion gear on somewhere. The details all around are pretty impressive, and show how far Nintendo has come since they first started making these Amiibo figurines.
But, Nintendo wasn’t going to forget about Mario! With Super Mario Odyssey coming in October, Nintendo is ready to ship out a few new figurines with Mario, Peach, and Bowser in their wedding whites. We don’t know exactly what’s going on in Odyssey, but we’re pretty sure Bowser kidnaps Peach (again) and attempts to force through a marriage, and Mario comes in doing his best Owen Wilson impression. Bowser looks incredibly dapper in his top hat, and Mario looks like he should be doing Vegas in his all-white suit. Peach is also all in white, and is probably not all about it for so many reason.
Nintendo is also tossing in Samus and Metroid figurines, ahead of a new DS game and, more excitingly, Metroid Prime 4 for the Switch (someday). All of these figurines will be out sometime this year, so if you’re itching to cut down on wallet weight, keep an eye out for more news from Nintendo.
