Funko’s Latest Star Wars Pops Celebrate Carrie Fisher

Funko has released the first wave of SDCC exclusive Star Wars pops that will be unveiled at the convention.

It’s that time of year again. SDCC is just around the corner and toy and collectible companies are starting to offer first looks at all the great SDCC exclusive collectibles that will be released at the con. Popmaker Funko recently released the first information on exclusive Star Wars pops that will be sold at SDCC.

One of the most in demand Funko pops this year is sure to be a Pop R2D2 with a holographic Princess Leia pop. The set, a callback to the original Star Wars film, honors the legendary Carrie Fisher who tragically passed away earlier this year. Fans around the world were devastated her death and the death of her mother Debbie Reynolds just days later. This Pop set honoring one of the original strong female science fiction characters is poignant for fans and will be one of the most sought after of all the SDCC exclusive Pops.

Other Star Wars Pops that will be making their debut at SDCC this year include a 6” glow in the dark figure of Supreme Leader Snoke as well as a Combat Assault Tank Troopre from Rogue One. Rounding out the first wave of Star Wars Pops is a Rogue One Bodhi Rook Pop.

More information about exclusive and limited edition Funko Pops that will be available at San Diego Comic Con will be released over the next few weeks as the con gets closer. This year SDCC will run from July 20th -23th with a preview night on July 19th. There will be a lot of exciting events going on as well the presentation of many special collectibles for a wide range of fandoms.
