Krispy Kreme’s Glazed Doughnut is Getting a Total Chocolate Eclipse

The chocolate glazed doughnut will be introduced alongside the solar eclipse, but will only be around for a limited time.

Krispy Kreme has been making all the right moves lately! They finally brought their Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup doughnut to the United States, and now they’re celebrating the upcoming total solar eclipse in an equally tasty way. Their classic glazed doughnut is getting an eclipse of its own later this month when it gets doused in chocolate glaze.

Unlike the real solar eclipse, this Krispy Kreme chocolate eclipse will be a full one everywhere. The glazed doughnuts will be totally covered in chocolate, and in the Krispy Kreme tradition, you’ll be able to go in and watch the magic happen. Their Chocolate Glazers will be doing their best impression of the moon, giving us a look (and smell) at the process of getting that sweet, sweet chocolate covering on those doughnuts.

Krispy Kreme plans to preview the doughnut on August 19 and 20 during some of their locations’ Hot Light evening hours. The doughnuts will be widely available at all Krispy Kreme locations in the continental United States on the day of the eclipse, August 21, and will be available after that for a limited time. Like the eclipse itself, the Chocolate Original Glazed Doughnut will be gone far too soon.
