Sperry Has a 40th Anniversary Collection of Star Wars Shoes You Absolutely Need to Check Out

The sneakers and slip-ons range from subtle to…very outspoken.

Well, a boat is no star destroyer, but it’s still a perfectly good place for some Star Wars love. Sperry, best known for their maybe a little overpriced boat shoes, has a new collection that we might not mind overpaying for. They’re celebrating the 40th anniversary of the release of A New Hope with a Star Wars x Sperry collection that goes five pairs deep.

If you’re not inclined to shout your love from the rooftops, there are a couple of really great low-key options. The Death Star Cloud CVO and the Rebel Pilot Cloud CVO are both canvas shoes with Imperial or Rebel logos near the heel, plus a themed stripe running down the back. They look pretty clean, and we’re liking the orange and charcoal colors.

But, maybe you’re not much for subtlety. In that case, you’re going to want to peep the slip-ons. Two pair feature the best buddy tandems in Star Wars history — R2-D2 and C-3PO and Han and Chewbacca (look, Finn and Poe might get there, but they have to earn it). The rebel symbol is on the side of the white R2-D2/C-3PO kicks, but it looks like it’s been left off the black Han/Chewie pair.

The most special of all might be the McQuarrie Cloud Slip-ons. These shoes feature the original concept art of Ralph McQuarrie, showing off the X-Wing approaching the Death Star and how very, very, very different Luke and Darth Vader looked at the beginning of production.

The shoes will be available on Sperry’s site starting August 10, but we’re not sure exactly how much they’ll cost yet.
