The Walking Dead Cookbook is More Appetizing Than it Sounds

The cookbook and survival guide are coming out ahead of the season eight premiere in October

No, really, it’s not what it sounds like. The Walking Dead: The Official Cookbook and Survival Guide is not a Forrest Gump-like compendium of zombie culinary possibilities, but it will teach you how to make some excellent cookies! Coming from publisher Insight Editions and chef Lauren Wilson, consider this your new handbook to surviving the zombie apocalypse in the most domestically pleasing way possible.

The book has 144 pages split between recipes and survival tips — tips on how to actually get all those ingredients in a world of walkers, I’m guessing. A lot of the recipes are based directly on characters from the show, like Carl’s Chocolate Pudding, Carol’s Cookies, and Daryl’s Deer Stew. There are recipes for drinks in there, too — hopefully some of the alcoholic sort, because we are talking about a zombie apocalypse here.

Speaking of which, that zombie apocalypse is coming back for an eighth season in October, and it looks like it’ll have some surprises in store. The cookbook will arrive right around the same time — you can preorder it now and get it when the book ships on October 10. Until then, enjoy a freebie — the publishers have released the recipe for Carol’s cookies early, and you can check it out below!
