These Disney Princesses Becoming Warriors Are Exactly What We Need Heading Into 2018

If 2017 taught us one thing, it’s that women trying to make a career in almost any industry have to be warriors, whether they want to be or not. So, if we’re going to head off into 2018 with one last collection of fan art, why not make it a bunch of Disney princesses becoming totally rad warriors?

Finland-based artist Susanna Silván, who goes by Sadyna, created this series, creating an alternate reality where Disney princesses are the mightiest warriors of their lands, with a little inspiration from the Soul Calibur series of fighting games. She even gave them super cool warrior names! We love it, and if you love it too, you should definitely check out more of Sadyna’s work on her Tumblr and Instagram pages!

Alice, the Pillar of Madness, has a Mad Hatter-like getup. Also, she appears to use a flamingo as her primary weapon, which is probably one of the greatest things we’ve seen all year.

Jasmine becomes the Red Tiger, and looks like a way more stylish street thief than Aladdin!

As is tradition, we note that yup, Mulan was already a pretty awesome warrior. She now wields a staff, because she’s versatile like that.

Pocahontas, Powhatan’s Pride, appears to prefer a different sort of clubbing than what we’re used to.

A take ahead of its time! Sadyna took inspiration from Cinderella’s origins as a house servant to turn her into an android. Well, an android outfitted with an arm cannon who goes by the handle Rogue Maiden. If that’s the face of the machine revolution, we’re cool with it.

Belle is the Royal Confidant, trading in the yellow ball gown for something a little more battle-worthy. Is the sword one of the castle servants? Maybe!

Human Ariel is the Silent Warrior, because — well, you know. You’ve seen the movie.

Pretty cool idea for Aurora — the colors of her two dresses are on her flag, while the three ribbons on her armor match the three fairies!

And here’s the mermaid-inspired armor for Ariel, who looks like she’d be pretty tough on land or in water!

With the apple, you knew Snow White (the Warrior of the Seven Arrows!) would have to go with a bow and arrow. Wonder which dwarf’s head she shot that apple off of.

Sadyna’s not the only one. Artist Josh McMahon has his own takes on Disney princesses as fighters — including these!

This Snow White only needs two weapons to get by, and she never leaves home without them.

We still can’t get over how awesome Aurora as a pro wrestler is.

Cinderella the not-so-secret agent.

And another fresh warrior look for Mulan!
