Aloft Hotels is known as Marriott International’s innovation incubator brand, and they are constantly working to bring the most current technology into the everyday experience for their guests! They employ AI in a variety of ways, including through the use of their ChatBotlr, Botlr, and voice-activated rooms features.
First up is the Botlr, a robotic butler, that was conceptualized in 2014. The Botlr was created as an inventive pilot program to allow front desk associates to respond more immediately to guest needs, one-on-one. Botlr assists the front desk by picking up and delivering guest amenities, moving linens and towels from laundry to guest rooms, fitness centers, and more. Botlr wirelessly communicates with guests and staff through a touch screen interface. Botlr calls the following properties home: Aloft Miami Doral, Aloft Dallas Love Field, Aloft Boston Seaport, Aloft Long Island City, Aloft Cupertino and Aloft Silicon Valley.
ChatBotlr was the next version of Botlr, and is a chatbot available in pilot mode at Aloft Boston Seaport that gives guests an additional way to make service requests. Driven by ahead-of-the-curve technology, Aloft’s ChatBotlr empowers guests to request basic hotel services right from their own smartphones.
With ChatBotlr, guests can text to request services, information about the hotel, listen to the brand’s #AloftLive playlist and connect with the front desk team during their stay, even when not physically on-property. By leveraging natural language understanding and machine learning, ChatBotlr gets smarter the more it interacts with guests.
