It’s no surprise I love products that give back. In addition to getting something nice for yourself or a loved one, it’s even better to know that the good you are doing is two fold. Meet TUK. They make luxury timepieces that give back in a big way.
For every TUK watch you purchase, TUK provides a water filtration system to a Cambodian classroom so children there can have access to clean drinking water. It’s actually a big deal. I know here in America where water is clean and free and we expect it to be so, it’s had to imagine that it’s just not like that for the rest of the world.
Over 35% of the people here on earth (approximately 2.5 billion people) don’t have sanitary water. What’s even more tragic is that 2,200 children die every day and it’s predominantly due to water that is not safe for them to drink.
It’s incredible that TUK made it their mission to do something about this crisis, and in the meantime, they’re bringing people a gorgeous product, too. TUK specializes in minimalist watches, but they are anything but minimally spectacular. TUK also means water in Cambodian.
They’re truly like no other watches I’ve seen on the market, and I know a thing or two about luxury timepieces. I have family members that collect them, and they love nothing more than sharing their passion with me. I have to admit, I’m rarely impressed, but TUK certainly is impressive, their giving back to people in need aside.
Aside from one pretty face, TUK is actually quite well made and I have no doubt that this watch could hold up to everyday use. The watch face is scratch proof, and the watch itself is even waterproof!
