Find Out Just How Much These Celeb Coaches On The Voice Get Paid

Since the beginning, The Voice has cycled through quite a share of coaches. Each coach comes from a different genre and they all vary in their level of popularity. The reason that each coach comes from a different genre is that all of the aspiring artists vary in a genre as well.

For The Voice, one of the best parts about having such massively successful celebrity coaches is they bring their fanbase with them. What we mean is a lot of viewers watch The Voice just because their favorite artist is on it. Although all of the judges on the show are popular in their own right, The Voice has left more people knowing their name than before.

While all of the judges are popular, not all of them are paid the same amount per season. We’re here to break down the salaries of current and past coaches from the show.

After coaching on The Voice for four seasons, Cee Lo Green decided to call it quits after the fourth season wrapped. His reason was that the show “easily and quickly became a job.” We can only imagine he meant it wasn’t quite exciting enough for him.

When the show first debuted, one could argue that Cee Lo was at the height of his career. His smash hit “Forget You” was at the top of music charts throughout the world, and he was continuing to gain popularity through The Voice. After leaving The Voice, Cee Lo continued to release music and even did the voice for a character in Hotel Translyvania.

When The Voice first started, Cee Lo had the lowest salary of all the judges. This is partially due to the fact that he was not as popular as the other judges and everyone had a lower salary since the show was only just beginning.

By the time Cee Lo left the show, he was making $6.5 million per season.

Although her time as a coach was short, 15-time Grammy winner Alicia Keys was on The Voice for seasons 11 and 12. Producers and fans loved her ability to relate to the aspiring artists and musicians, which made her a quick fan favorite. Another aspect people adored was how true to herself she remained – she continued to rock her no make up look despite being filmed on television.

Even though Alicia stayed on the show for two seasons, she didn’t walk away without getting a win first. There’s been speculation that Alicia will return to the show at some point. However, there have been no signs of her officially returning on the network’s end.

Alicia was paid $8 million per season. While compared to some of the other coaches this may seem low, most of the coaches start at that salary and eventually make more the longer they are on the show.

When Pharrell Williams joined The Voice, he made history by being the only judge to have been nominated for an Oscar. Many of us assumed that because of his crazy success, Pharrell would have a pretty high salary. Yet, he was making much less than some of the other coaches.

Despite not making as much money as some of the others, it is obvious that Pharrell loves coaching. He explained that as a coach on the show they are “just trying to coach them the best we can…we try to give them guidance.” Pharrell clearly has a talent for coaching, seeing as he won season eight.

Pharrell is worth $150 million. So, there is speculation that the reason he accepted the $8 million salary is that he truly loved coaching, and didn’t need the money that badly.

Miley Cyrus was brought onto the voice at the same time as Alicia Keys. Many felt she was an interesting choice for a coach at first. It was eventually explained that Miley was brought onto the show because she attracted a younger age demographic. In addition, she was able to offer a different perspective due to her age.

While most artists start at $8 million for their first season, Miley did not. Instead, she made quite a bit more. This is because of the level of star power she brought to the show. Once she signed on and was announced as a coach, The Voice‘s rating rose dramatically. After a few seasons on the show, Miley decided it was time to say goodbye.

The pop star’s schedule had become too busy and she needed to take a break from filming. Miley was making $13 million per season when she left the show.
