The ipod commercials with the dancers are some of the most iconic commercials ever made. There have also been countless parodies and imitations of it, but isn't imitation is the best form of flattery. KolorDance is a software application especially designed for your ipod, which brings the dancers from the ipod commercials on to your ipod. The dancers will dance along to your playlist while you control a character by sliding your finder back and forth across the click wheel. The software comes with both a male and female character each doing 2 separate dancers in 4 colors. KolorDance retails for $9.99 and is compatible with the ipod with color display, the ipod with ...
The GrooveToons Alarm Clock is molded in the basic shape of a traditional alarm clock but it's got cartoony curves and googly eyes that stare back at you. A snooze button is included on the clock, and the clock and alarm function will automatically show up on your Nano once you dock it on to the alarm clock. The clock is also available in 5 metallic colors that will match the 2nd generation Nano: green, pink, blue, black and silver and it retails for £29.99 at iWorld. And in case the GrooveToons Speaker looks familiar, it might be because you've seen the retro style ipod alarm clock around. But between ...
We just posted about sleeping bags for your laptop and then we get an email in our inbox about PJs for your iMac. It seems like there must be a lot of sleepy computers out there. Tucano's PJ Mac Screen Protection Cover for IMacs protects your computer from dust, mothballs, bugs and sunshine. It also makes your Mac look plain adorable, and yes the pocket is designed to hold a mouse. That is too cute for school. The cases retail for £9.99. There is also a PC Jam Screen Protection Cover which is designed to fit most 17" PC LCD screens and retails for £18.99 and ...
Here is a cheap way to keep your beloved iPod safe and sound this summer, whether you're going to the beach, camping, or doing something else that can be hazardous to the fragile device. Allsop's Splash Pack DriPod provides a water-proof, air tight soft case for your ipod or other similarly sized electronic device. The bag features a triple seal, and a heat-sealed headphone jack, and they claims that the case is submersibles to up to about 10 feet. But don't worry, despite all the protection, you'll still be able to control the ipod while inside the case. A lanyard is included so that you can wear your ipod on you as well. Allsop's ...
The problem with iPhone cases is that they cover up the beautiful design of the iPhone. But if you don't put a case on your iphone and you end up damaging it, you'll never forgive yourself either. Think of the InvisibleSHIELD as a happy medium. Kind of like the emperor's clothing, the InvisibleSHIELD is designed to protect your iPhone without covering up its lovely curves.
Initially, I was a little skeptical about using the InvisibleSHIELD on the face of the iPhone because I was worried that it would interfere with the sensitivity of the iPhone. Fortunately, it hasn't interfered at all with the iPhone's usability. The package included a piece that covers the face of the iPhone, and the back of the iPhone. However the piece for the back of the iPhone doesn't wrap around far enough to cover the metal edges on the iPhone's face. I find that a little disappointing since, since I think that the metal edges are the most delicate area on the iPhone and mine have already been getting a little scuffed up from use. The InvisibleSHIELD also claims to be scratch proof. Admittedly, I am to chicken to test that theory out on my precious, however I've been carrying it around for a couple of days and it has kept my iPhone safe and sound so far.
Applying the invisibleSHIELD was simple enough, though it did take concentration in order to take some effort to make sure that no air bubbles got in. A spray on solution is included with shield that makes the invisibleSHIELD movable on the iPhone's surface, so that you can align it as perfectly as possible without much hassle. I succeeded in aligning the front and back piece of the invisibleSHIELD pretty well, minus a bubble that I couldn't manage to get rid of on the back side.
Belkin's pink and black Folio Case, AKA "Charm", is designed for the girly girl who likes to be prepared. The case opens up to reveal a mirror, as well as a pocket for slipping in a photo. The leather case also comes with a wristlet and a heart-shaped charm. It will be available soon for $24.99 and comes with Belkin's Lifetime warranty.
Another week, another ipod speaker. Genesis's QDos's portable ipod speaker does at least have something unique to bring to the plate. It's got a 4-way 360 degree surroun sound speaker built around it. The rest is pretty much standard - it runs on 4 AA batterries and can last up to 8 hours and it has a 4 x 3 watt output. But the best part is the color selection, it's available in white, black or hot pink and retails for about £89.99.
There are plenty of boom box's out there designed to work with the iPod, but you'll be hard pressed to find one that does this much. iMep's MP-701-388 comes with an ipod docking station, a 7" LCD Panel with a built-in TV tuner (that can be either analog or Digital DVB-T), it's also got a memory card slot and USB port, a DVD player, and an FM Radio. The only thing missing here is the kitchen sink. The MP-701-388 retails for $299, and is unsurprisingly sold out for the moment.
So you have an FM Transmitter, but finding a good empty station can be a royal pain, especially since it changes from city to city. Griffin's new SmartScan Stationfinder is a web-based application that lets you find the best frequencies to use in a selection of cities. The site is designed especially work with the iphone but it will also work in any standard desktop browser and it certainly is a handy tool to have for road trips.
Really, it was just a matter of time until some company cashed in on making custom skins for the iPhone. SkinIt looks to be one of the first such companies offering vinyl skins for the hottest phone ever. They have a large selection of choices including just about anything from a Dance Dance Revolution skin to flags of the world. The skins retail for $14.95 each. And by the way, SkinIt also produces skins for certain digital cameras as well. So yes, there are skins you can get even for your camera. Is there anything you can't customize nowadays with a skin?
Heaven knows I'm in love with my iPhone, but that said it does fall short in some areas, especially when it comes to "fun" stuff like organization. The @Task for iPhone Widget tries to compensate for the iPhone's current lack of task organization features with a slew of tricks of its own. Using @Task you can scroll through a list of your own projects and tasks. Tasks included descriptions, priorities and schedule completions. You can also add notes to current tasks and email team members with status updates. Currently you can try out @Task with a 30 day free trial. Undoubtedly over the coming months we'll see more services like @Task pop up, hopefully ...
July 4th is just around the corner, and we're all thinking the same thing. What happened to our 4 day weekend now that it falls out on Wednesday. Anyway, here is a way to show your patriotism by dressing your ipod up in a Napa leather case covered in the stars and strips. The case, designed for the 30GB ipod, also includes screen and scroll wheel protection, a swivel belt clip, and it can be customized with your name all for $24.99 from Case-Mate.
iLugger has a selection of durable water resistant nylon bags that are designed to carry around an iMac, a Mac Display, or a Mac Tower. The cases come with heavy foam padding, a removable shoulder strap, an extra handle for support and removable backpack straps on certain models. The iMac cases even come in different colors including Gray, Black Blue/black, or orange/black. While we wouldn't recommend using the iLugger frequently (unless you're the Hulk), still it does make the idea of carrying your PC around with you not so crazy to consider.
Griffin's iClear Photo is a great way to customize your ipod with something meaningful, while keeping it safe and sound from harsh elements. The polycarbonate case is see-through so that you can slip in and place a photo under the case. What's great about this case also is that you can keep changing the photos, so you if you break up with your BF you can easily replace the photo with your new guy. Griffin's iClear Photo retails for $19.99 for the Nano, and $24.99 for the ipod with video.
Inspired by a trip to Germany's Wartburg Castle, Eric Foxman took his love of Macs and went ahead and built a Z-scale model railroad inside of an old Mac Plus. The model is complete with a moving train as well as several tour guides and groups. Why a Mac? "I chose to use a Mac Plus [since] it could only be done in a Mac. Windows graphics are not up to the job of making anything that looks real enough to simulate a virtual model railroad." (Source: Macworld Magazine, July 2007)
Case-mate's Handle-it has been designed for the Macbook Pro owner who tends to often run off in a hurry. The handle-it is a premium leather and aluminum handle crafted for the Macbook and Macbook Pro. It also doubles as a passive heat sink with fins to promote better airflow - which you'll appreciate if you're Macbook Pro is as hot as mine is. Plus, it also works as an ergonomic lift. We've seen shirts, jackets, hats, bags and even gloves for your ipod. Now get ready for these. Vickerey has bootleg pants, shorts, tank top, capris, and a built-in shorties skirt all designed to hold your MP3 player. The ipod /mp3 apparel is available in many colors and pricing ranges from $55 to $96.
We're not sure who copied who, but Techshells protective cover for the Macbook and Macbook Pro looks awfully similar to Speck's SeeThru Hard Shell. The purpose of these cases are obviously to keep your Macbook in good condition - and they look cool. I have a red SeeThru Hard Case from SpeckTec and I am constantly getting compliments because of it. That is mostly because people don't seem to realize that it's just a cover, they're like "Oh My God, is that a red Macbook!" Anyway, Techshells are available in blue, pink, green or purple, and last but not least - there is a pink Bling Bling Techshell covered in crystals. ...
It's not often that we get excited about an FM transmitter. As a matter of fact, the iTrip Pocket is the first FM transmitter we have ever gotten excited about. In general, FM transmitters just aren't the most exciting devices. They are just useful devices which serve the purpose of getting music off of your digital audio player and on to any system with an FM radio. I've owned a few FM transmitters in the past and well, they've all sucked. As a matter of fact I'd kind of given up on them until now. However, I'd never tried any of Griffins iTrips though I had heard good things about them.
When I spotted the new iTrip Pocket and noticed how small it was and how it looked to be a perfect compliment to the iPod Nano, I just had to try it. It turns out that it's quality and build are so similar to the Nano itself that one could be fooled in to thinking that it was an accessory that Apple produced themselves. Also, it unquestionably must be be one of the smallest FM transmitters available.
