Clueless, Mean Girls, and Pretty in Pink Coming to your Gaming Console Soon
July 23, 2008

Clueless, Mean Girls and Pretty in Pink. Classic movies that led to super stardom for the three female leads in them. Well it seems now that since the female demographic likes to watch these type of movies (shocking), then maybe they would like to play them as games too. Well that is what Legacy Interactive and Paramount believe. Excited?! I thought so and here is a little description on what each exciting title will be about.
Clueless: The Game, you will be playing as the character Cher trying to be matchmaker to your friends. You’ll have to figure out what your friends likes and dislikes are and then put together the perfect match for you pals. As if!
Mean Girls: High School Showdown, will allow you as the player to create cliques to takedown the ulitimate clique of them all, the ” Plastic Clique.” You have the ability to do it the nice way or the nasty way, by spreading rumors and playing pranks. Gee you have to pay for a game to act this way…don’t teenagers go through this in real life for free?
Pretty in Pink, will probably be one of the only games out of the three that will focus on the movie and actually let you experience it all over again. Solve puzzles and various other tasks and relive the adventures and romance involving Andie, Duckie, and Blane.
So there you have it, intelligent, feminine orientated games that will give us the sense of empowerment by playing matchmaker and clique destroyer. Wow!!
Because you know women would never want to play as other female characters who are badass and shoot to kill. That would be sooo 90’s Lara Croft…
Heads-up Challenge Electronic Poker Table has a Touchscreen that Peels Cards
May 14, 2008
Playing poker with a real deck of cards is officially old fashioned. The Heads-Up Challenge home edition brings poker in to the 21st century. It’s an electronic poker table with a touchscreen designed for up to two players to compete on. The touchscreen is so neat that it will even let you peel up the cards. The table also shuffles cards, deals, displays showdown hand percentages and it awards pots. Unfortunately, the futuristic poker table retails for around 10 grand, so for now it will be reserved for the high rollers.

May 12, 2008
If there is one toy I really miss from my childhood, it’s legos. Till this day I’m tempted to whip out some and start building, but being an “adult”, I have to keep up appearances. The Knights’ Kingdom Chess Set is a complete chess set made out of legos. That includes 32 chess pieces and 24 minifigures plus a portable storage case. So finally, I can have a good excuse for why I’m playing with legos.
Handheld Lightning Reaction Game Leaves Tremors on Losers
April 21, 2008
For those who like to torture your friends then this might just be the game for you. It’s called Handheld Lightining Reaction. Each player grabs a handle on this toy and when the music stops playing on it and the red light turns green, be the first to hit the middle button or you will get an intense shock. So for those who are sadists this might be up your alley much more so than the likes of Monopoly or Connect Four. I highly suggest playing with people who owe you money. Maybe they will get the point. [Read more]

June 22, 2007
Here is a great activity for a rainy afternoon. FormWild software helps you create 3-dimensional animals from print outs. While following the patterns is no simple feat, at the end you’ll have created a paper or plastic creature that is much more impressive then a simple paper air plane. Amongst the kind of creatures you can create are fish, spiders, farm animals, birds and much more.
Khet Board Game Uses Real Lasers
June 6, 2007
Khet is a strategy board game that happens to have won a Mensa Select. Which means that this is a game for brainiacs. That also means we don’t quite understand how it works. “The object of the game is to illuminate your opponent’s pharaoh by bouncing your laser beam off the mirrored pieces and around the playing field.” Ok, well then. But we do like the sound of a game that involves real lasers. Khet the Laser Game retails for $43.99, should you decide to try out something more intellectually stimulating then Operation.
Commodore PCs are Back and Better Than Ever
April 22, 2007
Many of us are too young to even remember the Commodore PC, others have really fond memories of it. After a 20 year sabbatical or so, Commore is back. This time around they’re promising some screaming gaming machines. Specs like Nvidia 8800 Graphics cards and Core 2 Extreme processors certainly do look promising, and we especially like the interchangeable casing panels which can be personalized with your choice of art from a LARGE selection of choices the likes we have never seen for a desktop. On top of that they are paying homage to their history by preloading their PCs with an emulator that plays more than 50 classic Commodore 64 games. And of course, this goes with out saying but don’t expect these beauties to come cheap.

Duck Shoot Brings the Experience of the Carnival Game to your Home
March 22, 2007
Remember Duck Hunt on NES? That good old NES system even came with an infrared gun to play it with, though the gun was often frustrating to use. Duck Shoot is kind of like having a live version of Duck Hunt. You use the included wireless infrared pistol to shoot at the ducks as they move along the carnival’s conveyor belt. An LCD screen on the front registers points while an accompanying carnival barker spurs you on. While we don’t think that this is quite the most family friendly game that the description makes it out to be, it certainly does have its charm. FirstStreet is also selling a Saloon Shoot and a Gunslinger game with a similar set up.

It comes with 50 preinstalled games including Asteroids, Missile Command, Defender, Centipede and more. Like the arcade controls of your past, it has the same type of buttons and joysticks, and it has a trackball built-in to its portable chassis. It also functions as Media Center PC so that you can surf the internet, watch movies, and download additional games on to it. This heavy computing power helps to justify its $1799 price tag, because putting a powerful PC in a portable retro arcade is so very cool.

November 1, 2006

I personally have not even played Sudoku, but I have noticed that it is

even key chains. I just wasn’t expecting to discover it printed on toilet paper. But I guess if you’re a Sudoku addict who can’t
bare to be without your favorite brain game, then this will keep you occupied in
