There is a new super cheap netbook in town and we might never heard of the company behind it, but the $199 price tag for the Fidelity Netbook VPC sure sounds like it will make us forget any qualms we would otherwise have. We might not be a fashion blog, but we enjoyed attending Vivienne Tam's (Fashion Week) Fall 2009 Collection Preview tonight in New York. So what was Chip Chick doing at a fashion show you ask? HP brought together a group of women bloggers (and some guys too!) to come and experience Vivienne's signature style in person. HP's Vivienne Tam Edition Netbook is a monumental step in the right direction for gadgets that appeal to women without being patronizing.  Sure, it's pricey for a netbook, but this netbook is about fashion and many women do care very much about fashion and style. Anyway, Vivienne's new collection is beautiful, but for us, the techiest aspect of the show was HP Touchsmart computers that were lined up against the wall - so that you could optionally be blogging on the spot. Was anyone actually blogging on them? No. But we gotta give them credit for the idea, it's the thought that counts after all.

We saw a ton of super cheap netbooks at CES and now they are slowly but surely creeping into stores. Geeks.com has the Alpha 400 MIPS Netbook for only $169.99. Yes, the specs are a bit meager: 400 MHZ, 128MB ram, Linux OS, and 1GB of flash storage. But for this price what do you expect? JustCooler's Notebook Cooling Desk really is just cooler than other cooling pads. For starters it doubles as a convenient desk / tray for your laptop. Also, it has an integrated 2.1 stereo system - which is something we've never seen before in a cooling pad, even though this is one of the more logical places to throw in a pair of speakers. The desk is also foldable for easy storage, it features two ultra-silent cooling fans, and it has buttons you can use to control speaker volume and muting. Unfortunately, there is no word on piricng and availability yet.

Probably some of the nicest Netbooks you will ever see ( and we saw plenty this CES!!), the Athena Art PC is the only unique Netbook out there (besides the HP Vivienne Tam model) to fuse both stylish design and portability.
