Averatec is better known for their All in one computers, at least recent anyway, but now they have introduced a very sleek looking and affordable new notebook.  The Averatec N3400 is an Aluminum 13-Inch Notebook and the Lightest of all of Averatec's notebooks. Weighing less than 4 pounds, the ultra-slim, stylish notebook can be easily carried in a briefcase or backpack. The unit is currently available and retails for $799 and packs in an impressive feature set for the price. Check out the specs after the jump.

The LAbesace LIME DROP may not be the most feminine bag but it gets the job done. It's design is sturdy yet sleek with curves - especially at the base of the bag. The shoulder strap of the bag resembles that of a car's safety belt, and that means it is that much more durable. The interior of the LAbesac LIME DROP is indeed a neon yellowish green color, which makes it easy to spot any loose items in your bag. There are several compartments inside the bag. The laptop compartment was able to hold my 15" MacBook Pro even though it is suggested that the max size it will hold is a 13.3" MacBook. Once the laptop is in its compartment, a velcro strap holds it in place.  Other compartments will hold letter or legal size papers or notebooks as well as pens or cards. There is even a plastic see-thru area to slip in an ID card in case the bag gets lost.

I've been eyeing the HP Pavilion dv2 ever since it was announced at CES. Mostly because of its good looks and near netbook-like pricing. Also, it seemed like the dv2 could be the best of both worlds - an affordable ultraportable that is almost as convenient to carry around as a netbook, but with the muscle power of a heavier laptop. I am a power user, so the more performance at my disposal, the better. Design: The dv2 weighs just 3.8lbs yet manages to pack in 3 USB ports, a multi-card reader, ethernet, a PC express card slot, a lock port, and both HDMI and VGA outputs, which means that it can easily be hooked up to a projector for presentations or a large screen TV for watching movies. The build quality of the dv2 is excellent, it feels very solid with smooth round edges. When you hold it you can tell that it has been made with high quality materials. There is no flex in the system unless you try really hard to bend it, which is obviously not recommended. Notably, the left side on the bottom of the laptop gets pretty hot, especially during graphics intensive tasks like playing a video game or watching a video. The Toshiba M505-S4940 series is an already well rounded affordable 14.1" laptop, if not a bit dull. But that is all about to change. Best Buy is selling a new version of the M505-S4940 which gives the m505 a new look in the form of some streaking duotone lines on its chassis. The design isn't exactly the greatest we've seen on a laptop of late, after all Dell and HP have both been churning out some artistic laptop covers and designs, but regardless - this fresh look is welcome. We've seen some pretty hip and stylish laptop sleeves in our day, but laptop sleeves coming from well known labels are few and far between. Now one of our favorites - Diesel, has a new laptop sleeve named the Neosole. Today Lenovo announced the ThinkPad T400s laptop , a new thin and light laptop with unusual charms. Lenovo once again is marketing to business professionals, but the laptop also features some enhancements that anyone on the go would appreciate. The T400s was inspired by the similarly lightweight ThinkPad X300. It is super slim at just 0.83 inches wide with its 14.1 LED screen, and a solid state drive in tow. The laptop is also made of Monocoque reinforced fiber which makes it sturdy and rugged - this is the same type of fiber used to make bicycle frames and airplanes. Taking into consideration, how busy people are, Lenovo took the time to make sure that the T400s' keyboard (a neglected component on many laptops) has been designed with bigger than average keys. They also tightened the keys to prevent crumbs and other particles from crusting up on the keyboard, because we're all guilty of snacking while we work. The touchpad is also flush to the T400s so that a user can easily scroll, pinch and zoom without feeling cramped.

Colorware manages to get its paws on transforming every gadget, so it's no surprise that they are now offering color customization for the new MacBook Pro 2nd gens - that includes the 13", 15" and 17" versions. The base price for a new color job is $499 and you can choose from either a solid or metallic finish in all of the colors of the rainbow. The Disney Netpal is a collaboration between Asus and Disney to bring you the Eeepc netbook, but reimagined especially for kids. The netbook is branded with the Eeepc logo but painted over with pink swirls, so that it's perfect for any little budding princess. It also has a webcam in the shape of Mickey Mouse. While the netbook space is getting really, really crowded, there still aren't all that many many pink ones. Ok, so HP and LG have one, but that isn't that many. Toshiba's mini NB205-N310 is the latest netbook to get its pink on, metallic pink to be specific - with a textured finish and a chrome hinge. Other available colors include sable brown, frost white, and indigo blue. But for those of you who aren't so colorful, there is the black NB205-N210. The netbook's list of specs are pretty standard - you get a 10" screen, Windows XP Home, a 1.66 Atom processor, 1GB of ram, and 160GB hard drive in a package weighing 2.9lbs. The NB205 also boasts a battery life of up to 9 hours, which sounds like a lot of bragging. But if it can pull that battery life off - it'd be a netbook to beat. I used to associate MIDs as ultra-pricey luxury gadgets for super rich geeks, but after getting a hands on with some of them at Intel's headquarters, I was surprised to see how many new MIDs are coming out that are actually affordable and still worthy of a good amount of gadget lust. This is a concept MID device from Intel. We don't know much about it other than it runs on a spiffy futuristic, Linux-based interface and it has a camera.

Looks like Gateway quietly released a budget widescreen 15.4 inch laptop that is also in pink. The Gateway M-735u retails for only $549.99 and has decent specs for a Gateway.It has an Intel 2.0 Ghz T4200 Mobile processor, 4GB of DDR2, HD Audio, built in Wi-Fi, and ultrabright WXGA display. The major selling point for me is the size of the hard drive which is a 320GB SATA!! Every holiday seems to be an excuse to market to the consumer this year, even Flag Day means marketing flags for all the world! So it's no surprise that everyone is pulling out all the stops for Mother's Day this year, especially since retailers are hurting so much. Sony has come up with some creative bundles aimed at moms. Averatec has just announced a new powerful ultraportable laptop to add to its current line up. The N2700 features a 12" screen, and is powered by a Core 2 Duo T6400 2.0GHz dual-core processor, 4GB of ram, a 250GB hard drive, and a DVD/CD burner. It also has got a 1.3 megapixel camera, a 4 in 1 memory card and three USB ports as well as a IEEE 1394 port. But the best part about the new N2700 is its $699 price tag, which makes it not that much more than a netbook but so much more powerful. We're excited to see more powerful ultraportables dropping in price. Granted the N2700 is a bit on the heavy side at 4lbs, but you cant beat the price. The BookEndz Docking Station has added to their line new models that are now compatible with the 13" Unibody Apple MacBook  and 15" MacBook Pro both released late last year.
