HP SimpleSave Hard Drive Review

Anybody who has ever had their computer crash on them and lost precious irreplaceable files knows just how important it is to back your computer up. The more backups the better. Not only does backing your computer up protect you from when (not if) your computer will have a complete meltdown, it also gives you the peace of mind knowing that your files are safe even if you accidentally delete them.

Beatles Rock Band Review XBox 360

The Beatles, really what can you say about an iconic band that has produced music that transcends across generations. So it was with extreme enthusiasm that I got to grab my little plastic guitar and make it weep. Even if I wish there was a sitar controller available. The Rock Band series has broken away from its typical formula and introduced a game that is completely engrossing and visually captivating, so much so that you'll think you are tripping along with John and Paul when playing Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.

Philips GoGear Vibe 4GB Review

Philips launched the GoGear Vibe not too long ago and although it's not meant to be a direct iPod competitor by any means, it does do the job of being an affordable MP3 player and a serious alternative to the Shuffle. In the Box: The packaging is actually pretty smart as it offers a perforated area on the packaging to simply take the device out of it without cutting your hands or breaking a pair of scissors. The GoGear Vibe comes with a USB adapter, matching black ear buds, a booklet, and software for easy installation. Design: The GoGear Vibe's black glossy design itself is slick and easy on the eye.  Its body is small with curved edges so the ease of portability is there, but unfortunately the quality of the operational buttons are a bit stiff. You can also hear a bit of clicking noise when you press on the buttons. However for this price point, I guess you can't complain too much since it is a MP3/Video player after all. Overall, the GoGear Vibe is a very portable device, fitting into the palm of my hand, it is great for running or using at the gym. I used it every morning for 1 hour in the gym and it lasted 7 days without having to recharge. The battery life is rated at 25 hours for audio and 4 hours for video.

LaCie Cozy and The Coat Hard Drive Cases Review

LaCie has always been known for their well made Hard Drives but they also have a growing line of accessories to protect your precious storage in as well. Sam Hecht, a LaCie hard drive designer has conceptualized the new LaCie Coat and Cozy accessory cases. The Coat bags bring a new way to travel with your hard drives without the worry of them smashing into something and getting damaged. Resembling the bubbles on bubble wrap or even Lego brick bumps, each pattern comes in a different color and size: orange, red, black, and gray. It also supports 2.5 inch drives as well as 3.5 inch drives. When you grow tired of the bubble effect, you can always turn the sleeve inside out and then a suede fabric interior is exposed.

Casio Exilim EX-S5 Review

The Casio Exilim Ex-S5 is definitely the camera to buy if you are looking for a consumer friendly camera that is easy on your wallet and you don't want to stress your brain. It's a simple camera that provides excellent photo quality, ease of use, and it is extremely light to carry.

Bionic Commando XBox 360 Review

Based on the original Bionic Commando from Nintendo, Capcom decided to bring it back and give it a whirl with updated graphics and game play. Well they should have left it alone. The story starts with Nathan Spencer, the Bionic Commando being brought back into action by the same force that imprisoned him after he led the bionic commandos to victory 10 years earlier. The game is pretty mediocre at best. The pace of the game is pretty steady and fast. The best part was the awesome one liners when you killed someone such as "Kick A$$ or "I Would hate to be that guy", very amusing for a horrible game. The worst is the extra long tutorial they put in which is helpful but very drawn out.

Mophie Juice Pack Air Review

If you are like us, you love your iPhone. But as with any electronic gadget, the biggest annoyance is the battery life. With average use you probably don't get more than a day out of your iPhone, and generally that can be fine, since your day is over and you can let charge while you sleep. But what about those days when you are surfing the net for hours, playing your favorite app or watching movies on the plane? You never seem to have enough battery. Then you have to worry about finding a place to charge your iPhone... what a hassle! I can't count how many times I've found  myself scrambling for an AC outlet so that I could recharge my iPhone. Wouldn't it be great if your battery could last longer? That is where Mophie comes to the rescue!

Boom Blox Bash Party Review

Boom Blox Bash Party speaks to my inner child. The child that cackles with glee knocking things over, the one that walks past a beautifully stacked grocery store display and can hardly resist rolling my shopping cart right through it and being buried in a glorious avalanche of downy soft paper towels.

Be.ez LAbesace LIME DROP Bag Review

The LAbesace LIME DROP may not be the most feminine bag but it gets the job done. It's design is sturdy yet sleek with curves - especially at the base of the bag. The shoulder strap of the bag resembles that of a car's safety belt, and that means it is that much more durable. The interior of the LAbesac LIME DROP is indeed a neon yellowish green color, which makes it easy to spot any loose items in your bag. There are several compartments inside the bag. The laptop compartment was able to hold my 15" MacBook Pro even though it is suggested that the max size it will hold is a 13.3" MacBook. Once the laptop is in its compartment, a velcro strap holds it in place.  Other compartments will hold letter or legal size papers or notebooks as well as pens or cards. There is even a plastic see-thru area to slip in an ID card in case the bag gets lost.

Hammacher Schlemmer’s Metal Detecting Sandals Review

I have always been fascinated with metal detectors because of the allure of finding hidden loot. Do they really work? That quivering crackling noise it makes as you get closer and closer – will it reveal a huge treasure?! Instead of lugging around one of those big metal detector machines, My Treasure Seekers in conjunction with Hammacher Schlemmer released the Metal Detector Sandals. The Metal Detector Sandals are a nice pair of rubber slip-on’s that will not only protect your feet from the elements, but also let you beach comb and wade through piles of sand as your feet try to find hidden riches. On the surface the slippers are very plain, but to their credit  they are unisex so that way women can get in on the fun too. There is nothing fancy about them at all, they are comprised of a thick black rubber with some support for your feet.

HP Pavilion dv2 Review

I've been eyeing the HP Pavilion dv2 ever since it was announced at CES. Mostly because of its good looks and near netbook-like pricing. Also, it seemed like the dv2 could be the best of both worlds - an affordable ultraportable that is almost as convenient to carry around as a netbook, but with the muscle power of a heavier laptop. I am a power user, so the more performance at my disposal, the better. Design: The dv2 weighs just 3.8lbs yet manages to pack in 3 USB ports, a multi-card reader, ethernet, a PC express card slot, a lock port, and both HDMI and VGA outputs, which means that it can easily be hooked up to a projector for presentations or a large screen TV for watching movies. The build quality of the dv2 is excellent, it feels very solid with smooth round edges. When you hold it you can tell that it has been made with high quality materials. There is no flex in the system unless you try really hard to bend it, which is obviously not recommended. Notably, the left side on the bottom of the laptop gets pretty hot, especially during graphics intensive tasks like playing a video game or watching a video. There are two colors available for the dv2, an Espresso Black and a Moonlight White for an extra $25. We received the white version. [gallery=164]

Microsoft Arc Mouse Review

When I first looked at the Arc Mouse, two thoughts passed: “Great, another ‘travel’ mouse that will be too small to actually use!” and “What a cool looking mouse!” Once it was unboxed and on my desk, my perception changed further. It had a solid feel, not cheap and flimsy. This mouse might just be worth using after all, and it is pretty and sleek! The biggest complaint with ‘travel’ mice is that they are usually just the right size for a 5 yr old. Not so here. Yes, it is smaller, but with a surprisingly “nice fit.” I have used an ergonomic mouse for years and I thought I’d never change, but this mouse is growing on me. There is one problem with the design: Unless you have a very long thumb, the side button is very awkward to use (not mention if you are a lefty).

Casio Exilim EX-S12 Review

A few months ago a we got a chance to see the Casio Exilim EX-S12 in action at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan. Casio was there to engage both children and parents on how their new Dynamic Photo function works. Kids lined up with their parents down the block to get their picture taken and then placed onto a favorite book or picture of theirs. It was an ingenious idea that not only showed off the Dynamic photo function but also the simplicity of photo-editing on the fly without a computer – something that perfect for busy parents looking to entertain their kids. The Casio EX-S12 has many more features than just the Dynamic Photo one – it also has Tracking AF, Makeup Function, HD Movie Function (1280x720 pixels), 2.7-inch wide TFT color LCD, 3X Optical Zoom, and a newly-developed Exilim Engine 4.0. The body of the camera is super slim and light at only 3.9 Oz. It's the perfect camera to grab and go and will slip into any pocket or purse very easily. It is also available in many colors: black, green, pink, and silver. So not only is it small and compact, it is stylish too.

Microsoft Office Live Review

Have you ever arrived at work only to realize you left your thumb drive with your revised presentation at home? Or have you ever wondered if the document you received through an email attachment is the most current? Have there been changes? Work can be very frustrating when were not all on the same page, so to speak. Wouldn’t it be nice to have access to your documents from any computer in the world? As well as sharing files with friends and workmates, in a way that everyone has the most recent version?

Hands on with the Air Ionizer Color Hidden Camera and Recorder

After a recent break in at my family's vacation home, I set out to look for some sort of surveillance equipment to keep an eye on things while no one is around. I took in to consideration that I wanted some sort of DVR device that would hopefully catch the thieves again in the act, in case they should try to come back. I called the folks over at Brickhouse Security and they worked with me to figure out what would be the best surveillance system to use in my situation. Understanding my concern that having something flashy, might get the actual surveillance system stolen, they chose a DVR camera ...

Seagate Replica Review

The new Seagate Replica is designed with one thing in mind - true simplicity. Seagate knows that despite everything, there are still plenty of people not backing up because they aren't tech savvy enough or they are just too plain lazy. The Replica eliminates those excuses by making backing up as dead simple as plugging in the device and letting the device take care of everything by itself. In a lot of ways, the Seagate Replica is like a PC version of Apple's Time Machine. The device and its software provide automatic and incremental backups, while being as simple as possible. So if you accidentally delete a file, using the Replica, you'll be able to easily retrieve a previously saved version of the file. Also, the Replica stores your backup files in a structure that mirrors your regular PC's file structure, so that files are easy to locate and restore.

Kensington Netbook Collection Review

Netbooks are all we see and hear about these days. So it's only appropriate for accessories to come out made specifically for them. Kensington has launched the Netbook Collection which features accessories for any netbook that are both practical in price and in size. Wired Mouse for Netbooks This is a cute little mouse that certainly does compliment the netbook, just because of its size. When Kensington says compact design, they mean it. However, it is a bit small even for my hand but there are many who might find it adorable.  It can slip into any bag or even a pants pocket very easily. And despite its size ...

Radius Atomic Bass Earphones for iPhone Review

For a while now I've been looking for an affordable replacement to my dying iPhone earbuds. I wanted a pair that had a built-in mic, as well as answer button, and of-course -it should have good sound quality without costing an arm and a leg. At home, I have my Beats by Dr. Dre for when I want a serious sound session. But when I'm on the go with my iPhone, I want something practical and affordable. And because I'm on the go, I know from experience that I'm likely to destroy and go through earbuds quickly - which is why I want them to be affordable so that ...

Resident Evil 5 Review for XBox 360

If you like killing zombies in the morning, afternoon and even at night, then Capcom has done a great job of that in Resident Evil 5. The latest installment in a series of horror survival games has been brought to a new level of play. Capcom and has gone and transformed this usual single player game into a co-op zombie killers dream. Coming back for another round is Chris Redfield and joining him this time is Sheva Alomar. Sheva is the co-op player throughout the game. She is able to heal you and switch ammo, which makes the game far more interesting. Chris and Sheva find themselves in war-torn Kijuju Africa which seems like it is run with mercenaries. With this area comes lots of struggle since no one is to be trusted but the Delta team, an elite team that helps guide Chris and Sheva at certain points during their missions. Chris and Sheva are on the hunt for bio-terriorist Ricardo Irving who is selling viruses on the black market and it is safe to say, they are not for curing anything. As Chris and Sheva push on they go up against infected mercenaries turned zombies and many super zombies that Ricardo has infected and sent out to destroy Chris and Sheva, this is on top of them trying to stop Ricardo from selling his evil viruses.

Speck AftPack Backpack and TuckPack Sleeve Review

Until now Speck has been mostly known for its various cases, either the See Thru hard shell for the Apple line of Macbooks and iMac, or a variety of different types cases for the iPhone and iPod. So I guess it was only a natural progression for them to dip their fingers in to the backpacks and notebook sleeve arena. Earlier this year at CES we reported about Speck making this leap. So what could Speck do that a million other companies have tried before and yet manage to still be different?  Well the first thing would be provide the consumer with superior quality as well as a ...
