We're not sure why Mustek would want to even bother trying, when Slingbox is already such a successful product. But competition is generally a good thing for consumers. The upcoming Mustek DMS-100D will let you stream TV and video to your PDA, laptop or mobile phone no matter where in the world you are. JVC's new Sophisti DD-8 and DD-3 media systems not only look like a million bucks, they do have some powerful features to fit the package. The systems feature a network media player and front surround technology. In time for CES, Vizio has announced a slew of affordable LCDs and Plasmas. When we read about the price point and specs for the GV47LF, we decided that we had to go and see it for ourselves. Sony's stylish new Esprit TAV-L1 is a force to be reckon with. The front panel slides down to reveal a 32 inch BRAVIA LCD TV, a 2.1 surround sound speaker and a DVD unit. And as if the TAV-L1 modern design wasn't beautiful enough, its covers are also available in a several different designs so that you can have it match with the color scheme of your room. As usual we're distraught because so far this beautiful telly is only available to customers in Europe.

The Free TVU player gives you acces to live streaming TV stations for those running Windows. The TVU selection isn't half bad, they have some NBC and FOX stations from around the U.S., as well as several other stations from around the world. And we hope that the selection continues to grow. It took about 30 seconds for us to connect to a FOX channel that was playing Seinfeld. Once the show started, it played pretty smoothly. Unfortunately some other channels we tested didn't play as well and kept cutting out. Still, we all love freebies, and the TVU Player is one worth checking out. ITVN offers standard definition on demand TV via a small set-top box and a speedy net connection. We like that you can pick and choose what you want a la carte, so that prices start as low as $9.95 a month. Unfortunately their selection is very limited. Starz and Encore movies for $14.95 a month just isn't grabbing our attention for the moment. However, karaoke enthusiasts might like ITVN's unlimited access to karaoke videos on demand for $9.95 a month. Sony's new Bravia LCD Flat Planels are truly a work of art. Perhaps that is why sony decided to give us the option of framing them. Sony is offering custom bezels for the KDL-46XBR2 and KDL-40XBR2 in the colors arctic white, pacific blue, velvet black, scarlet red and sienna brown for $299. Packard Bell's Smart TV S320 is really - smart. The HD-Read 32 inch LCD has Windows Media Center PC hiding in its innards. Complete with a Pentium D820 2.8GHz processor, 1GB of ram, a 400GB hard drive, a DVD+RW drive, an ATI X1300 video card with 64MB,  and a Freeview tuner - the S320 makes one heck of a Media Center PC. However, we can't imagine it being very upgradeable. It retails for £1,999.00 (about $3,809 USD) at PC World UK.

We have locks to keep our pricey notebooks safe, so it seems only sensible that we should have some way to secure our big expensive Plasmas as well. The PaneLock Security System is made up of integrated theft-resistant clips that latch the mounting bracket arms to the rods on the wall plate. A security screw then locks the pieces in place. We might be jumping the gun, but based on several photos on Hannspree's site, the Potto TV sure looks like it comes in the color pink. Putting that possibility aside, the Potto is a pretty standard 15 inch LCD TV with a 1024x768 resolution, and a 500:1 contrast ratio. It also has a very simple, yet modern design going for it. But does it come in pink? We're still not sure, because when you head over to their store page, the Potto has different photos in which it appears to be something closer to a dark grey.
