Riding your bicycle at night has always been dangerous especially if you are someplace that is extremely dark. Reflectors on the back and front of your bike help, but not always. Well what if you lit up your wheels with LED lights! Hokey Spokes may sound like a stupid name but in fact what they are actually very cool. These transparent blades attach to the wheels of your bike and as you bike around town, a computer built inside one of the blades generates different LED lights and images for all to see. You can even set a custom text to display. This is a good way to advertise something, perhaps your blog? Hokey Spokes costs $29.95 each and up to 6 blades can be put on one wheel.
We can honestly say that this is one gadget we'd buy based on looks alone, practically regardless of the specs. Memorex's new Fashion DVD players are a bring a breath of fresh air to boring old DVD players and portable DVD players just by adding a funky multi-color design splash. The new DVD players will be available in black or pink and will most likely be available to purchase at Wal Mart, thus you can expect them to be affordable as well.
We can't imagine why someone would want to track someone or something, but if you're in the market for a James Bond like tracking system, the affordable Super PocketTrack Covert GPS Tracker looks like a good choice. Extremely compact in size, the tracker is a USB stick that comes preloaded with software. Install the software on your computer, load up Google Earth and than place the Super PocketTrack in the bag or car of the person you're spying on, err, monitoring.

If you often travel internationally, then you know what a pain it can be if you need to rely on having frequent internet access for your laptop. Sure you can get AT&T's laptop card that will work in most of the world, but their global data plan for roaming isn't unlimited so your bill is likely to end up in the thousands if you use the internet heavily. The other alternative is to pay for wifi hotspots where you can get them, but the problem with that solution is that that if you pay for daily access for each different hotspot you use, that also ends up getting pretty pricey. Also, there will be times ...
Jules Underwater Lodge located in Key Largo, Florida, gives you the experience of being drowned alive but still being able to talk about it. In order to get to the hotel, instead of the old fashioned car or airplane, one must scuba dive "21 feet beneath the surface of the sea" - Jules’ really is located underwater. The hotel was previously and currently an underwater research facility dedicated to examining habitats under the sea. Now you can be apart of the fun. Ridiculous perhaps, but it is kitschy. The hotel maxes out a at 6 friends or 2 couples. And don't worry, it has air-conditioning, hot showers, stereo music, VCR/DVD, a ...

Summer is gone, and the thought of the beach is a pretty distant memory, but here is something to pack a long on your next trip to the ocean - whenever that may be. Sure, this is probably one of the silliest product we've ever seen, but we got to hand it to the creativity of the people behind it. The Beach Radio headset looks just like a miniature beach chair. It folds out and collapses for easy portability. When expanded, it's meant to rest your head on as you listen to the built-in FM radio. It's also water resistant and lightweight. We'd be too embarrassed to actually use one of these, but we ...
Coby's TF-DVD1296 isn't the most stylish portable DVD player we've ever seen, but where it lacks in stylishness, it makes up in practicality. The TF-DVD1296 has a 5.6" full color LCD screen that will play DVDs, or TV stations. It also features an AM/FM radio, it can play CDs and MP3 files, it has built-in speakers and it has AV inputs so that you can connect a device like an VCR or video game console in to it. A remote control, car and AC adapter are included with the package. And last, but not least, it's got a practical handle for easily grabbing it to take with you. Overall, the TF-DVD1296 seems like it ...
In an effort to tighten security even further, airports are beginning to outfit "extra-strength" body X-ray machines. These new machines are so strong that they don't leave much anything to the imagination. We're all for increasing security, but the thought of some stranger (a random security guard) seeing me practically naked, is totally horrifying. We think that X-ray vision can only be trusted to have if you're Superman. (Source: WCBS TV)
Everyone knows that South Korea is light years ahead of us when it comes to gadgets, so this tidbit shouldn't come as a total surprise, yet we are surprised anyway. The Seoul metro system in South Korea has "Digita' Stations" sprinkled through out of it. Each station consists of a free computer to use to get online. The PC has a memory card reader for uploading photos and there is also a convenient cell phone charging port located in each station. Overall, we don't know what is more amazing - the fact that they are free to use, or that they aren't always being vandalized. (Source: Laptop Magazine, October '07)
We know naught about motorcycles, but just based on looks alone, the Victory Vision 2008 seems to be quite the ride. But it's not the rpm or even it's slick style that has us interested in the Vision, but its connectivity options. The bike comes ready with iPod connectivity - with music navigation controls smartly placed on the handle bars while tracks can be viewed on the dashboard. The premium version also has a 4 speaker system, and you can have XM radio thrown in as well. We'll take one in red please.
Flying is becoming an increasingly unenjoyable way to travel. If I had a penny for every flight I've been on in the past year that ran out of pillows and blankets, well then I'd have a lot of pennies. Then there is that pesky battery power issue. You're very fortunate if you get situated near a power outlet, and even then you need the right adapter to take advantage of it. The good folks at Virgin America, a brand spankin' new domestic airline, has set out to equip their airplanes the way all modern day airplanes should be equipped but aren't. Their seats have regular outlets as well as a USB jack to keep ...
I stopped in to a local tourist souvenir store the other day and noticed something different amongst the postcards - a digital picture postcard. The Digital Picture Postcard is essentially a CD-ROM with 250 hi-res photographs of New York City on it ready to mail back home. The back of the packaging has space to write a quick note to your loved one about what a great time you're having along side the address. We're not sure if this is kind of stupid or not - after all, can't you just email the photos? Maybe one day postcards will have their own OLED displays and come packed with several themed photos, now that would be ...
Don't go traveling with out this device. Until they create a real universal translator system like they do on Star Trek (ever wonder how all the aliens can communicate with each other even if they've only met for the first time). ECTACO's iTRAVL NTL-9C is a talking 2-way multilingual language Communicator and an electronic dictionary. The handheld device can translate words and phrases from to Chinese, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian Spanish and back. All you have to do is speak and the NTLC-9C will instantly spit back the translation. Running on Windows CE, The device also features a Travel Guide, a CIA World Factbook, travel audio books and an MP3 player. ECTACO's ...
Summer is almost over, but the rolling picnic cooler might still come in handy. The cooler is an ordinary picnic cooler that expands in to a table with 2 stools. The cooler can hold up to 28 cans plus ice and it has wheels for easy transportation. The side wings open up to create a table with cup holdings and there are two detachable seats that snap in place under wings. This is so the kind of thing Inspector Gadget would bring to a picnic. The rolling picnic cooler retails for $62.95.
Too lazy to actually swim? The Seascooter XL Personal Water Propeller takes care of the grunt work for you. The Seascooter allows you to zoom smoothly along the water at up to 2 mph, Duck and dive quickly to depths of up to 15 feet, and one charge will give you up to an hour of fun. Ok, we're a little bit skeptical, but if this thing is at good as it looks, than it should be a blast to use in the water. The SEASCOOTER XL Personal Water Propeller retails for $149.95.
No one wants to keep hearing "are we there yet" over and over again. That is why portable DVD players are one of the best inventions of the 20th century. Mustek's new Mustek's PL1070D features dual 7 inch tablet style TFT LCD screens that can be mounted directly in a seat headrest. Ok, that is nothing new at all. But what we're especially keen on is the players ability to read DIVX and MPEG-4 other then the standard DVD and CD discs. The package also comes with a 12V car adapter, a rechargeable battery pack, an universal AC/DC power adapter, a remote control with 3V battery, an A/V cable, two sets of earphones, a car ...
Living in a small urban apartment means that I would only ever buy a folding bike, of which there are many out there to choose from. However, Di Blasi's new folding Tricycle is a totally new marvel of engineering. It's available in the motorized R-34 model, or the non-motorized R-32 model and it supposedly folds in just 5 seconds without using any tools. It's also got 5 gears, two V brakes, and dynamo-powered front and tail lights and mudguards. I don't often see people riding trikes, but if trikes are your thing and space is an issue, than this is just for you.
