Say GoodBye to GPS and hello to W-Track A-GPS

Okay, not really. However, New Scientist claims that in the year 2011, violent solar activity will disrupt GPS satellite navigation. Apparently, GPS recievers are highly senstitive to the radio noise produced by solar flares that arise by explosions in the sun's atmosphere. When solar activity peaks in 2011, it could potentially cause widespread disruption to  emergency location systems that rely on satellite navigation data. What does this mean for you? Don't just jump off the GPS navigation wagon. Instead, take it for what it is and ride out the tide. Starting with this, W-Track A-GPS, an extremely neat A-GPS device. This tiny, and I mean tiny (65mm x 43mm x 28mm)  real-time GPRS connected ...

How to Cheat a Cheater

I’m not sure if you remember the motivation behind my SpyCamera (SpyFinder?) story. Anyway, I recommended that same company to a friend of mine who was convinced that her boyfriend was cheating on her and wanted confirmation. They ended up recommending quite a few products to her and she chose a combination of them. I figured I’d post my favorites as a sort of guide  - a guide that will help you "cheat a cheater" - for the tech savvy woman that finds herself in the same situation. Placing a digital voice recorder in the glove box of his car. It’s a pretty good idea if you ask me – you can listen to both his cell phone and in-car conversations. Sure, its a violation of his privacy, but hey, he is violating your trust! Plus, thus way youll be producing material evidence to confront him with. The technology: they obviously range in price and handle time but they are all voice activated so they won’t waste valuable space recording air.

Over the years I've accumulated miscellaneous travel kits for charging my devices on the road, and in the end  I always end up lugging around a heavy bag just for power kits and cables. Blackstone International has launched the MFuel line which includes the World Pak products, the ultimate all-in-one power solution for air, car, and wall. These kits are small and travel friendly, and they include ALL the tips and cables in ...

High-Tech Hotels

Laptop Magazine has a list of hotels in North America which offer high tech amenities. Amongst them is the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront which is testing out an HDTV system that plays music from your MP3 player via the guestroom's television's 30-watt speaker. You can also use the television's 32-inch flat panel screen to connect to your laptop for a multimedia presentation. Plus, the HDTV screen also splits so that you can check your e-mail while watching TV.   The Nine Zero Hotel in Boston has WebTV's and High-speed Internet access throughout the hotel. It's also the first hotel in the world to install LG's iris identification technology, which allows guests to access the hotel's Cloud Nine penthouse suite. The technology uses a digital camera to take a picture of the guest's eye, and as a result the on-site cameras can identify guests and grant or deny them entry to the suite.

Fishing with Flair

Ok, so fishing gear usually doesn't fit into a Hi-Tech category, but if you stretch the definition of "gadget" can't a bait kit fit in somewhere? Anyway, this Tackle Bag with Lure Kit from Fishergirl.com is extraordinary because it's made especially for women! How many tackle & bait kits have you ever seen that were made for girls, eh? Of course the kit's case comes in pink and the bait included are plastic, shiny and kinda pretty. Best off all, part of the $30 price for the kit goes to breast-cancer research.
