Pinky Tree a Living Green Mobile Charm
August 31, 2008
Now this is one mobile phone charm I might actually put on my cellphone. Pinky Tree is a living and breathing baby plant that grows in a 2″ ‘capsule,’ aka incubator. It will grow for about 6 months to a year inside its capsule and then will need to be re-potted and join and the real world. But for a year or less you will have an awesome charm that can go on your phone, keys, or handbag. It will need some help of course to actually make it out of its incubator, so you will need to water it atleast once or twice a month by dipping its base into water. There are plenty of Pinky Trees to choose from, some looking like cactuses others just very unique looking green plants. 100 stores in Europe already sell Pinky Trees as well as 300 stores in Japan. According to the website it will be coming to America soon.
The Poseable Robot Calculator Does Alot More Than Add 1+1
August 29, 2008
I used to love my Little Professor Calculator back in the day from Texas Instruments…I guess I’m showing my age…But they just don’t make calculators fun anymore like they used too. Once you got passed Junior High, they all became boring Scientific Calculators with tons of buttons that I could never understand. However the Poseable Robot Calculator puts fun back in straight math! The 8 digit calculator has movable arms, will hold objects, a magnet for paperclips, and a detachable night light! The best part is you can pose it! Now this is certainly one calculator that will get all the your friends jealous when you head back to school or for adults make balancing your checkbook alot less painful…The poseable robot calculator can be found at fredflare for $18 and it comes in white, lime or blue.
Convertible Compact Desk From Crate and Barrel
August 28, 2008
Are you going off to college and have limited space in what your college calls a dorm room? The Convertible Compact Desk from Crate and Barrel is maybe the perfect solution for those tight spaces. It looks like a 30″ cabinet at first but then transforms into a 55″ full-size desk. Slide its top panel and suddenly you have a table top and a leg. When slid open, cubbies and other storage compartments become exposed and cord cutouts allow for wire maintenance to charge gadgets. The birch veneer and deep ebony stain make this an impressive piece but it doesn’t come cheap at $499 but hey it looks alot better than IKEA pressed wood….

Smile, You’re on PistolCam
June 25, 2008
“Smile for the gun!” That’s what any hardened criminals will be doing for police officiers in Orange County where the Swat Team is testing the PistolCam. Attached under the gun right below the barrel is a camera, which will begin recording upon aiming your gun at a criminal and the gritty details of that encounter. The goal of the PistolCam is to avoid scandals concerning Police departments for reckless shooting. With the PistolCam, proof would be captured on its small camera with a mic that records MPEG 4 Video/Audio for 60 minutes worth. Currently the Swat team of Orange County in New York is giving positive reviews on the gadget, and for $695 it is certainly alot cheaper on Tax payers wallets than having to pay for some lengthy court case about an accidental shooting. The Art of Office Showcases Masterpieces Created in Excel, Powerpoint & Word
June 23, 2008
The Art of Office is a collection of artwork that has been designed and produced completely using your favorite boring old Microsoft Office apps. We’re talking Excel, Powerpoint, and Word. Whether it’s an Excel Spreadsheet turned Mona-Lisa portrait or just some funky abstract art created with Powerpoint’s shape tools, we’re pretty impressed by both the talent some of these people have, as well as the free time on their hands. But don’t trust our word on it, go and check it out for yourselves.
Smile, You Have a Tooth Tattoo
June 22, 2008
I’m not crazy about tattoos. Yes I’m very well aware that they are fashion statement, a statement of rebellion, or just a reminder of that night you got drunk. But anyway you shape it, I’m not crazy about them - they are so, eh, permanent?. So it startled me to come across the desire for someone to want to tattoo their teeth. Yes, you heard me - your teeth. A gentlemen by the name of Steve Heward who is a dental technician as well as a trained tattoo artist, will gladly paint on your crown a famous politician, artist or animal. Basically whatever you desire on your already expensive tooth. He claims to be tattooing teeth since the 80’s and it will take anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour depending on the artwork. It can easily be removed at the dentist’s office with a rubber grinding wheel. Well, atleast no laser is involved. Prices range from $75 to $500 and you will be sent a certificate with your crown to prove it’s a pedigree. I have to say, this is a whole different kind of toothfairy…
