Are you ready to mix up your collection of Les Paul Gibson Guitars and Fender Stratorcaster for Rockband and Guitar Hero? Then the Starpex by Peak products may be right up your alley. It is the first Full Size Wooden Guitar for PS2/PS3. It looks extremely realistic, so much so that I think it would make Hendrix proud. The design includes realistic looking strings and tuning pegs. There are frets for normal play and awesome solos as well as easier access to the starpower/overdrive button. The Starpex is also so forward thinking in design that you will be able to customize the guitar since some of its parts will be ...
What can we say, we can never get enough retro Nintendo accessories. IDontLikeMondays (great name) has a whole bunch of unique purses including a Gameboy purse and a Gameboy Badge. They also have some other non-Nintendo accessories including a Cassette purse, a Ghetto Blaster purse, some space invaders badges, and a bomb badge. The purses retail from $38.40 to $49.90. But if purses or badges aren't your thing, there is also a neat cassette pillow for $70. (Thanks, Jolene)
Last night we got a chance to take a sneak peak at some upcoming games from EA. Amongst the games that especially caught our attention was MySims Kingdom for Wii and DS, Hasbro Family Game Night and Monopoly.
MySims Kingdom is a followup on last year's popular MySims game for the Wii. The game is very suitable for kids, but has many qualities that will make it popular with all ages. MySims kingdom employs a lot of the qualities that people love about the Sims - the ability to easily build, decorate and furnish your home. The game focuses on customization using your own creativity and it takes advantage of the Wii controller to implement your building and object moving skills, as well as your overall puzzle solving skills. Unlike the traditional Sims, MySims Kingdom is also an adventure where the main character sets out to explore different islands where he/she interacts with other characters and develops relationships with them, helps many of them out by using their special talents, and solves puzzles along the way. Many of the puzzles are cool in that there are several ways to solve them. Also, each of the islands have a different theme ranging from a cowboy themed island to another one where a mad scientist works on building a space ship. Overall, there is a lot to discover in the colorful MySims Kingdom. The DS version of MySims Kingdom features similar gameplay elements as well as the ability to play via multiplayer with other MySims Kingdom players.
It was a jungle out there, well actually a safari, at the Digital Experience tonight. As we head into summer, this season's Digital Experience decided to tease us with some summer treats as well as a safari themed event down to the reptiles, and no it was not a new Ugobe robot. Below are a few sneak peeks at upcoming gadgets that especially caught our eye. We got to check out the impressive upcoming Blackberry Bold, Maxtor's new Central Axis Network Storage hard drive, some fashionista headsets from Plantronics and an assortment of other goodies.
Super Mario Brothers is not just a game but a pop culture phenomenon, and even if Mario and Luigi were icons of the 80s, they still thrive today in the form of games, t-shirts, Wii Mods or now a car. Someone in Russia, loves these Italian plumbers so much they decided to paint their Lada automobile with a scene from the second Super Mario Brothers game. That must have cost of a lot of rubles. The attention to detail is astounding, even if the car it is painted on looks like a piece of junk.
Move over teddy bears and stuffed bunnies, and make way for our new cuddly Nintendo friends. Gadgets.dk has a bunch of fantastically squishy NES pals. There is Mario, Luigi, Goomba, Boo, Piranha Pete and mushroom. Warning: Buying the mushroom might result in the urge to throw it up in the air and hit it with your head. Or if you buy the Goomba, try and control yourself not to stomp out the little guy out of spite.
Looking for a good coffee table book? High Score: The Illustrated History of Electronic Games goes through the history of video games in pictures - because heck knows that we like to read as little as possible. The book is chock full of photos, advertisements, game box art and arcade cabinets. Old PC games are included as well as your favorite retro consoles. The High Score: The Illustrated History of Electronic Games retails for $79.99 which is kind of expensive but what can we say, we love picture books. (Source: GameInformer, June '08)

Your job is to run a successful business, and attract and keep customers. You also get to be a Chef and design your own dishes. Ok, so it certainly seems like Monopoly has been pimping itself out a lot lately. We've seen all sorts of cool editions ranging from the Family Guy to Las Vegas, and this latest one will be especially dear to video gamers' hearts. The Collectors Edition Nintendo Monopoly features Mario, Luigi, Link, Zelda, Kirby, and other NES icons. The box comes with 6 adorable collectible pewter tokens including Donkey Kong’s Barrel, Link’s Iron Boots, Hylian Shield, NES Controller, Mario’s Cap, and a Koopa Shell. We're especially fond of the NES Controller. The Collectors Edition Nintendo Monopoly retails for $33.00.
We seem to all be consumed with rhythm games these days whether it be Guitar Hero or Rock Band. But instead of shelling out $60 or more on these games, there is the poor man's option. So how many Simoleans has The Sims earned thus far you ask? Well a lot, if you take into account they are about to celebrate the 100th Millionth copy sold. This game changed the industry and made adults kids again by allowing us to play the digital version of dollies. The expansion packs took on the form of buying additional clothes, the dream house, or the little pink corvette for Barbie. With rumors of The Sims 3, who knows whats next for this line. The future is certainly very bright as technology becomes more advanced and The Sims take up more of our lives than before. Congratulations Sims! Or as my Sim would say "radashay!"
Look below for some classic Sims 1 and Sims 2 trailers.
Peta is known to many as the vigilante group of animal rights activists. Even though they are right about the causes they defend, some aren't always too thrilled with the way they go about it. Well instead of using blood on furs this time around, they have created a video game inspired by Super Mario brothers called Super Chick Sisters. If some aren't aware, PETA has been slamming KFC for the way they treat their chickens. What has to be the best part of the game.... is Pamela Anderson as the Princess. Overall the game is actually done pretty well, especially for a flash based game. They also give you the option of downloading it to your PC or Mac.
For all those folks who still don't have the Wii and want to play those retro NES and SNES games of yester year on your TV then this little gizmo might just be for you. We have seen these type of chairs before that shake, rattle, and roll to immerse you into the video game you are playing at the moment. What we haven't seen is the ability to torture another gamer. Election season is upon us and in full swing and unless you have been living under a rock, so far it has been one of the most historical in decades. So which candidate are you choosing - Clinton? Obama? McCain? Mario? - Yes I said it, Mario. ThinkGeek has the cutest t-shirt that features a Mario and Luigi dream ticket for the 2008 elections. So if you can't make up your mind why not support the candidates who will likely get you lots of coins, save the day, and plunge a toilet. What more could you want from a President!
Ever since acquiring Maxis (the original makers of the Sims Franchise), Electronic Arts (EA) has managed to create and expound on a very viable, highly addictive computer game that has achieved a cult like following; turning it into a sub culture, complete with its very own vernacular that continues to capture the hearts, minds, imaginations and in some respects transcend societal lines in terms of staying fresh in shaping the human condition that is called life. However, the good thing about The Sims is that it continues to entertain and delight millions of fans across the hemisphere! After all, it’s a computer game!
Well its been shockingly a while since we posted about skins or covers for your iPods/Nanos/ etc... so it was only a matter of time till we came across something interesting again. Pimp-my-gadgets.com is another company offering funky skin protectors for your iPods, Nintendo DS Lite, and Sony PSP. Similar to that of Gelaskins. PMG also offers extremely cool designs that are different from Gelaskins and many other skins companies out there but sadly they don't offer much selection for other gadgets like your laptop. However they do have a section on how to jailbreak your iPhone....so it's not all bad. Every skin is £5.45 regardless of device and ...
