Monster and Dr. Dre Club Beats Launches at Best Buy

Yesterday we got a chance to check out the launch of the Club Beats section at the brand spanking new Best Buy in Union Square (which took over Circuit City's old digs - may it rest in peace). Best Buy has teamed up with Monster and Beats by Dr. Dre to be one of the first big box retailers to offer not just its typical electronic and technological wares but also a source for hard core DJ's to come and spin some tunes, mix tracks, and test out DJ equipment such as turntables, headphones, and software. I watched as some people were

Jabra Halo Review

You can tell that from the moment you look at its minimalist design, that the Jabra Halo is not your typical stereo bluetooth A2DP headset. The HALO sports touchscreen controls on its right hand earpiece and it also features AVRCP which lets you play and pause music tracks, as well as skip backward and forward on music tracks.

Beats by Dr. Dre Now Available in White

There have been rumors of a white edition of the Beats by Dr. Dre going as far back as 2008. Rumor had it that they would cost $700 and be available as a limited edition. Well they are finally here and we're glad that the rumors weren't true. This white pair costs $299.95 and doesn't seem to be a limited edition. However they to seem to be an exclusive to the Apple Store. These are essentially the same great pair of Beats, just in white. We're not complaining.

Hands on with the HP Envy 15 Beats Limited Edition

Today at the Fast Company’s Masters of Design event at the Chelsea Art Museum in Manhattan, we got to take a good look at the stunning HP Envy 15 Beats Limited Edition. The system is one of the best looking laptops we've ever laid eyes upon, and we've eyed many. However it also happens to be a fingerprint magnet, but it's worth the sacrifice for all its beauty. The laptop also of course compliments the Beats by Dr. Dre headphones perfectly. We're starting to think that there just aren't enough black/red colored combo gadgets out there, and maybe there should be. Anyway, check out the gallery for more up close pics.

Heartbeats by Lady Gaga Launches in New York

Today in New York, Monster officially launched the Heartbeats by Lady Gaga and like with everything Gaga - there was mass hysteria. As her song Paparazzi played in the background at the New York Palace Hotel - Noel Lee, Dr Dre, and Jimmy Iovine all welcomed their newest collaborator on to the stage. But Lady Gaga aside, we were here for the headphones and once the 'paparazzi' left the room, the discussion focused on the Heartbeats. Poised and professional and most of the time concealed behind her fab sunglasses, Lady Gaga explained her passion for writing music and the importance of experiencing quality sound reproduction. She went on to explain why she chose the design of a triangle to exemplify the three things she would die without: love, fashion, and writing. Like with any genius, there is a method to their madness. Monster insures that the quality of the sound is still rich, despite being 'fashion' earphones. And even though these are likely to be labeled for women, Lady Gaga herself describes the Heartbeats designed to be 'unisex', at least for her fans anyway.

HP Envy 13 and HP Envy 15 Tout Unparalled Design, Performance and Battery Life

Under the hood you can expect the latest Intel SL9000 series Core 2 Duo processor and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 512mb video card. The Envy13

Monster and Beats by Dr. Dre Announce Beats Solo Lightweight Headphones

It looks like Monster Cable and Beats by Dr. Dre are having a busy Labor Day. They have unveiled a new headphone line called the on-ear Beats Solo. The Beats Solo are high performance headphones that are essentially an entry level pair of the Beats by Dr. Dre. Unlike their older sibling, these are more lightweight and smaller. The Beats Solo will be available in November in both black and white versions.

Skullcrushers Snoop Dogg Headphones from Skullcandy

It's the hizzle with shizzle, or oh, nevermind... it is actually the Skullcrushers Snoop Dogg. Back in January Skullcandy had announced a collaboration with the linguistic rapper and they have finally hit the web and are for sale. Did Snoop get jealous of the success of the Beats by Dr. Dre? The style isn't all that bad and is similar to the other variations Skullcandy already sells. The design is mostly paisley and available in blue or black. Supposedly, the headphones' padded headband and huge earcups are like putting a pair of subwoofers to your ears. The Skullcrushers Snoop Dogg retails for $79.95.

Exclusive Hands on with the Monster Turbine Pro Earphones

Monster once again, wants you to feel the music not just listen to it. In a private gathering last night we got a chance to sample the Monster Turbine Pro. Previously we had reviewed the Monster Turbine In-Ear Speaker and as much as we liked that ‘in-ear speaker’ there was something missing,  it didn’t quite blow us off our chairs like the Beats by Dr. Dre did. Before popping the Turbine Pro into my ears, I noticed right away the new design. The in-ear speaker housing is still the same shape but now the buds have a gold plated finish, not ...

Radius Atomic Bass Earphones for iPhone Review

For a while now I've been looking for an affordable replacement to my dying iPhone earbuds. I wanted a pair that had a built-in mic, as well as answer button, and of-course -it should have good sound quality without costing an arm and a leg. At home, I have my Beats by Dr. Dre for when I want a serious sound session. But when I'm on the go with my iPhone, I want something practical and affordable. And because I'm on the go, I know from experience that I'm likely to destroy and go through earbuds quickly - which is why I want them to be affordable so that ...

We're happy to hear that Monster wont be leaving Shuffle users out in the cold, now if only Apple would be as considerate.

Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Tour In-Ear Headphones Review

After the highly successful release of Monster's Beats by Dr. Dre, it seemed the writing was on the wall for a pair of earbuds to be released soon. Well just as expected, Monster did just that and released in conjunction with Dr. Dre again, a pair of earphones called Beats Tour high resolution in-ear headphones. The Beats are certainly a quality product and a pair of headphones that stand head above the rest in design and rich sound for the casual music consumer or even audiophile.  The Beats Tour is aiming to do just the same in the 'earbuds' marketplace. Design: Just like the Beats by Dr. Dre, the Tours ...

We've broken down our gift guide in to core categories - each of which includes items with price tags that are more affordable, and then some which aren't quite as affordably priced - but we promise that they are worth every penny....

Monster Turbine In-Ear Speakers Review

Monster is at it again with creating headphones that not only allow you to listen to music, but to feel it. Earlier in the week we announced the new pair of in-ear headphones from Monster named Turbine In-Ear Speakers. These new set of 'earbuds' will bring back to music the quality and depth that was lacking in your run of the mill earbuds, or so Monster claims. Design When Monster designed the Turbine In-Ear Speakers it was obvious they had in mind their very own component cable. When you first look at Turbine's design you can definitely see where the inspiration came from. The metal housing of the earbud that a passerby would see, resembles the ridges of the famous Monster component cables, and right in the center is the Monster logo. The right ear speaker has a red lining on it and then the left one has a blue lining. When I held the pair in my hand it was pretty light. I was afraid though to smack them around too much in my hand that I might chip the metal but I didn't. Another impressive feature which is a similar design element to the Shure E4c earphones is the earplug-like design. Included with the Turbine is an assortment of 4 pairs of rubbery eartips. Each pair is larger or smaller to fit into your ear canal comfortably. If you pick the right one for your ear, not only will you enhance your listening experience but you'll also eliminate the noise around you. Overall, the design detail alone of the Turbine has the essence of the Monster branding and quality all over it.

Cardo S-2 Bluetooth Stereo Headset Review

I rarely use Bluetooth headsets, I don't care for them really since they are always in one ear and tend to fall out of it regardless of the design.  However when I got a chance to review the Cardo S-2 Stereo Bluetooth Headset, I was more enticed by the fact it actually resembled a a pair of normal headphones. Design: The Cardo S-2 is a compact pair of Bluetooth headphones that easily twist into a travel friendly shape without fear that they will break.  All the functions of the headset are on the right ear cup. The Bluetooth pairing button, controls for the music (play/pause), volume control, and the USB input ...

Atomic Bass by Radius Earphones Review

After testing the beats by dr. dre last week, it was pretty much settled that there would be nothing else that could compare, it basically accomplished everything you could want out of an expensive pair of headphones. However when was I was asked to review Atomic Bass from Radius, I was taken by the fact that for small earphones it claimed to also deliver excellent bass perfectly suited for Hip-Hop and Dance music. Was this a joke or was I going to be surprised.... I was about to find out.
