14.1″ ThinkPad Lenovo T400s Weighs Less Than 4lbs

Today Lenovo announced the ThinkPad T400s laptop , a new thin and light laptop with unusual charms. Lenovo once again is marketing to business professionals, but the laptop also features some enhancements that anyone on the go would appreciate. The T400s was inspired by the similarly lightweight ThinkPad X300. It is super slim at just 0.83 inches wide with its 14.1 LED screen, and a solid state drive in tow. The laptop is also made of Monocoque reinforced fiber which makes it sturdy and rugged - this is the same type of fiber used to make bicycle frames and airplanes. Taking into consideration, how busy people are, Lenovo took the time to make sure that the T400s' keyboard (a neglected component on many laptops) has been designed with bigger than average keys. They also tightened the keys to prevent crumbs and other particles from crusting up on the keyboard, because we're all guilty of snacking while we work. The touchpad is also flush to the T400s so that a user can easily scroll, pinch and zoom without feeling cramped.

Study Proves Women Know More About Megabytes Than Men Do

Retrevo has a put together a "Gadgetology" study that helps prove what we've known all along - women are just as tech savvy as men. While we will be the first to acknowledge that studies can be flawed, the Gadgetology study, "which is a program that examines the science behind buying and using personal technology", does bring up some interesting facts which we can't just ignore. For example - their research discovered that 79% of men felt “extremely tech savvy,” compared to only 55% of women. But here is the clincher - a greater percentage of women actually knew that “MB” stands for megabytes. It gets better. The study asked both men and women if they felt intimidated by consumer electronics terms when they shopped. 18% of women agreed, while only 7% of men agreed that the terminology could be overwhelming. This same group of men and women were than asked to explain what 1080p meant. The results fell in favor of the ladies - 25% of men gave the incorrect answer, while just 17% of the women answered incorrectly. The research goes on to include some other interesting considerations, like the fact that women tend to be more attached to their gadgets than men. The study concludes with the sentiment that in a tough economy, the best way for the CE industry to make money might be for them to focus on women. Check out the full press release below for more details on the study.
