HP W-series EliteBook Laptops Pack in DreamColor Displays

HP has revamped their mobile workstation laptops and this time around their workstations are looking better than ever. Their W-series has been redesigned with the “FORGE” design framework, which is all about an industrial design that includes a radial-brushed, gunmetal finish, backlit jewel logo, orange-colored accents, a chemically strengthened glass touchpad and HP DisplaySafe frame. But the W-series doesn’t just look tough and slick, it has also been designed to be super rugged by meeting military standards (MIL-SD 810G) for drop, vibration, dust, altitude and high temperature. Under the hood, the W-series can be outfitted with Nvidia or ATI graphics card solutions ranging in size from 1GB to 4GB, along with a choice of a Core i7 or i5 Dual or Quad core processor, as well as AMD Eyefinity technology which will allow users to connect up-to five independent displays.

Speaking of displays, this series can also be configured with HP DreamColor’s display. Until now, HP DreamColor display has only been available on a dedicated HP DreamColor display monitor. The DreamColor display has become the industry standard for color accuracy. Motion picture companies, the likes of Pixar and Disney, rely on the DreamColor to develop special effects, animations, and more. Now for the first time, this technology is available on a laptop. That means that the W-series displays is capable of  producing more than 1 billion active colors.
