Best Buy Offering Students Free Xbox 360 With Windows Laptop Purchase

It’s not even back to school time yet but students can luck out with this latest Best Buy deal. Available only to college students, Best Buy is offering a Xbox 360 4GB console, when you buy any Windows laptop for $699.99 and up. However you must have an .edu email address to qualify if you order online, or you need a Student ID if you pick it up from the store. Just purchase a qualifying laptop  and the Xbox 360 together, and $199.99 will automatically be deducted from the laptop — the value of the Xbox.  Funny, I thought we wanted to encourage college students to learn and not play video games? Then again, I do get how L.A. Noire could be seen as educational…

MacBooks are not included with this offer but the selection of Windows based laptops is certainly impressive. There are Asus, HP, Dell, and Sony laptops to choose from and prices range from $699.99 to $1899.99.  Is Best Buy trying to compete with Apple? And how they typically like to offer free iPods to students when purchasing a new laptop during the summer season? It sure seems so… but in my book – Best Buy’s deal seems a whole lot sweeter.

  1. I’m thinking that I’m going to need to let me sister know about this deal. She is a girl gamer and would love to finally get an XBOX.

But on the sad side of things, I wish I could take advantage of this…. guess I’ll just have to make do with this old Acer that I have…

    Thanks Ali.
