Speck CandyShell Grip Case for iPod Touch 4G Review

There are a lot of cool cases to choose from for your iPod Touch 4G, but one that you don’t want to miss is the Candy Shell Grip gaming case from Speck.

This is a hard shell case which looks to offer good impact-resistant protection. This is definitely better than a simple silicone cover. I am not a big fan of hard shell covers, they tend to be so slick, that they can easily slip from your hand. But that is what makes this case so cool. It’s slick on the edges and down the center, which helps it slide into your pocket easily. The four large rubber areas also give you a good grip, especially when playing games.

Another nice feature of the Speck CandyShell Grip Case are the four small raised bumps on the edges of the case which help your thumbs to quickly find and stay in the correct location for playing games. Pressing the power button and volume buttons is also very easy while the iPod Touch is inside the CandyShell Grip. No matter how you hold the iPod Touch with the Speck CandyShell Grip, you truly do have a solid grip on your device while in use.

Putting the iPod into the case was easy, no real tricks. Getting it out was a bit more work, but that’s the way it should be, you don’t want a case that slips right off, do you?

The Speck CandyShell Grip is a solid case that gives a little pizazz to your iPod Touch 4G, while also being a truly functional case at the same time. The case provides protection as well as a solid grip while playing games or just listening to music. It also comes in three colors, a DarkLord Black, MoonSuit White and BunkerBuster Olive. At $35 the CandyShell Grip is a good price for the quality and functionality it offers.

The Good: Great grip; makes playing games on the iPod Touch even more fun.

The Bad: Trying to remove the iPod Touch 4G from the case proved to be more challenging than we expected.
