iPad App of the Week: ZappoTV HD Organizes Your Online Media Content

If you’re an early adopter of the Smart TV, ZappoTV HD is a useful app that could help you get the most out of your newly Internet-connected television. ZappoTV is an easy one-stop app you can use to stream all of your media content – music, pictures, and videos – to your Smart TV quickly and easily. You can also use the app to stream YouTube videos to your television straight from the app, but chances are if you have a Smart TV compatible with this app, you can probably watch YouTube videos pretty easily from your television without extra help. The ZappoTV does organize online videos into topic-based channels, displayed on a carousel, so if you prefer that method of browsing, you might want to give the app a shot. Another bonus is that you can continue to browse through related videos without interrupting the video that is streaming to your television.

You can create slideshows from your media content on the ZappoTV app, and stream those to your Smart TV, too. In addition to your content and YouTube, you can stream content from Twitter, Facebook, Picasa Web Albums, Flickr, and SHOUTcast Radio. In order to use the streaming features, you will need a ZappoTV account, which is free. You’ll also need a compatible Smart TV (see list below). The ZappoTV HD app is available from the iTunes App Store now for free.
