Face Retirement Web App Ages You in Front of Your Eyes

I tried to use Merrill Lynch’s Face Retirement web app, but I think there’s something wrong with it. It’s supposed to show me what I’m going to look like when I retire, but it just keeps showing me a skull.

Fortunately (?), Ali above fared better, getting a wonderful look at what the future might hold. You too can get a glimpse of future you by using the Face Retirement web app, which purports to show you what you will look like when you hit retirement age. Looking through most of the samples, I’m thinking that Merrill Lynch is just assuming that you’re going to gain another 50 pounds and start smoking three packs a day, because, like many of you, I know a few older people, and they don’t all look as spent as the pictures I’m seeing. Then again, maybe that has something to do with Merrill Lynch/Bank of America wanting you to open up a retirement account with them.

Make sure you’re in a well-lit room before you snap a photo, because the app seems to be pretty fussy about which pictures are good enough to modify. Also, make sure your head is perfectly centered, or I can pretty much guarantee that you’ll come out looking like a Picasso.
