Belkin Charge + Sync Dock for iPhone 5 Review – AKA The Missing iPhone Accessory

Remember when the iPhone came with a dock? Well Apple stopped including a cradle / dock accessory in the box a while ago. Fortunately, Belkin has come to the rescue with the Belkin Charge + Sync Dock for iPhone 5. This accessory lets your iPhone stand propped up at angle, while also charging and syncing to your computer via a built in lightning connector.

With its painted aluminium-like finish, the design of the Charge + Sync Dock matches quite well with the iPhone 5’s design. It will also accommodate the iPhone, even while inside most cases. Plus, Belkin has designed the dock with a 4-foot hardwire USB cable which offers more cable real estate than the lightning cable that came with your iPhone. The Belkin Charge + Sync Dock also works with an AC adapter, but you will have to bring your own.

All in all, the Belkin Charge + Sync Dock is a simple but effective accessory. We use it to charge our iPhone on our desk. And by keeping our iPhone standing up at angle, it allows us to quickly glance at the iPhone, as opposed to leaving it sloppy and lying flat while charging. The Belkin Charge + Sync Dock is also the accessory that Apple forgot to make for the iPhone 5. And to date, they are only making an iPhone 4 Dock. Fortunately, Belkin has come to our rescue, and we think that the build quality of their Belkin Charge + Sync Dock is actually superior to Apple’s own iPhone 4 dock.  Belkin’s Charge + Sync Dock for iPhone 5 retails for $34.99 on Amazon.

The Good: Very practical and useful accessory, Props iPhone up while it’s charging and syncing, fits with most cases, aluminum-like finish matches iPhone

The Bad: A tad pricey
