Olloclip has a serious competitor in the world of high-end iPhone camera accessories—Element Case is bringing their iPro 6 Trio to CES, and it’s boasting professional optics and five add-on lenses that can be used with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
Those five genuine Century lenses are all being made by Schneider Optics, a seasoned veteran in the world of camera optics. They’ll be making macro, wide angle, super wide, fisheye, and telephoto lenses, all of which can be stored in an accompanying Element Case for either the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus. The wide angle lens increases the field of view by 35 percent, while the telephoto lens narrows the field of view by 50 percent and the fisheye lens allows for 165 degree angle shots. When in use, a lens in the set is secured in front of the iPhone camera’s lens by the accompanying case, adding its effect to the shot.
The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus’ cameras are already impressive on their own, so the addition of these tiny, high-quality add-on lenses should bring your pictures even closer to professional status. If nothing else, you’ll be able to take some pretty cool shots you wouldn’t have been able to get otherwise, like panoramas with the fisheye lens.
You might have noticed that it’s called the iPro 6 Trio, though. The retail set will include the smartphone case and only the wide angle, telephoto, and fisheye lenses—the super wide and macro lenses will be sold separately. The smartphone case, for its part, serves not only as a storage case and mount for the lenses, but includes a side handle that doubles as a tripod mount. The iPro 6 Trio will be made available sometime during Q1 for $250. No word yet on how much the additional lenses will cost.
