The Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo Is Gorgeous & Gunning For Tesla

Move over Tesla, there’s a new electric beauty in town

The new Porsche Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo Is Gorgeous, Electric, & Something To Rival Tesla

It’s no secret we love Porsche here at Chip Chick, and we’re excited to hear they just announced their new electric car. Porsche is gunning for Tesla, having announced that they are planning on spending $7.4 billion dollars by 2022 on their new line of electric cars. Yeah, you read that right, that’s in billions of dollars. Their latest electric concept car is the Mission E Cross Turismo, and it’s absolutely gorgeous. It’s also slated to compete directly with Tesla’s Model X.

Porsche’s CEO told CNBC that “We have lots of respect for Tesla – and, yes, I’m sure there are some Porsche customers, that in terms of connectivity, digital stuff in the car and electric battery in the vehicles, didn’t find the car that they wanted with Porsche so they bought somewhere else.” So clearly, the Mission E Cross Turismo is their answer to winning back those customers.

Unfortunately, the only downside right now is that the Mission E Cross Turismo is pretty much just a concept car at this stage, not a production ready design. So, we really have no idea when and if it will hit the market. Nevertheless, it’s looking quite incredible based on the concept photos Porsche put on their website and the concept car they just debuted at the Geneva Auto Show.

Porsche is referring to the Mission E Cross Turismo a “CUV,” or cross utility vehicle, which is basically a much more refined SUV. We love that it features an electrically-opening charge port on both the passenger as well as the driver sides for greater convenience, all wheel drive, 600hp, and races from 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds. It also comes with the 800 volt technology, and it can be charged for up to 250 miles of driving in just 15 minutes. Pretty cool!
