You Can Teach An Old Dog New Tricks: This Startup Is Reversing Aging In Dogs & They Want To Bring Their Cutting Edge Tech To People Next

Whoever said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks was very, very wrong.

This startup is doing just that, and they are reversing the aging process in dogs. They want to bring their cutting edge tech to people, next. I know, this seems like something straight out of a sci-fi movie, but it’s quickly becoming reality!

The absolute worst part about having dogs is that they don’t live as long as we do. It’s a heartbreaking fact of having a four legged best friend, and I occasionally find myself thinking about how devastated I’m going to be when I no longer have my two dogs in my own life and how I wish there was something I could do to stop that.

It’s incredible to hear that the startup called Rejuvenate Bio is pretty much combating that.

So far, they have only conducted preliminary tests on beagles. Being able to increase the lifespan of your best friend is something one couldn’t possible oppose.

Rejuvenate Bio says their technology makes animals younger through adding new DNA instructions, but they haven’t publicly gone into a lot of detail.

This gene editing can double a lifespan or improve it by more than double. They have so far seen this in flies and worms with good results.

Other interesting research they have come across involves biomarker restoration through giving older mice blood transfusions from younger ones.

The biotechnology available today has confirmed there are a variety of things you can do to improve an animal’s lifespan, it just has yet to be released from the lab.

This startup is highly secretive and doesn’t have much press coverage, so it’s hard to gleam how close they are to rolling this technology out to the public, or what exactly they have accomplished to date, so it will be exciting to keep an eye on all of this.

I’m definitely hoping their technology becomes available in my dogs’ lifetimes!
