Here at Chip Chick, I got to test out the new OLLY Protein Bars and this is what I think of them.
I’ve spent a good portion of my life eating protein bars and consuming protein shakes and if you have too you know they don’t generally have a great taste or texture to them.
Protein products can be chalky, have an odd aftertaste, or a somewhat gross initial taste.
The upside though is that they’re protein bars. They’re supposed to be healthy and good for you and help you keep your figure. Ugh, the struggle is real. If you’re trying to consume less animal products, the struggle is even realer because most protein picks feature whey protein.
My initial reaction to OLLY Protein Bars are that they taste actually very good. All five of the flavors taste exactly as you would expect and are pretty delicious and they are Peanut Butter Chocolate, Chocolate Coconut Chip, Salted Caramel Chocolate, Zesty Lemon Creme, and Super Foods. They also all pack 10-15 grams of plant protein in.
OLLY offers three types of protein bars:
Energizing Nutrition, which contains 15 grams of protein and 7 grams of fiber, and is made to help keep you feeling energized.
+ Slim Boost Metabolism Support, which has 12 grams of protein and 6 grams of fiber, and is made to help you maintain a faster metabolism. It features blood orange extract which is help promote a healthier waistline, and the fact that the bars have 6 grams of sugar or less is amazing.
+ Super Foods Bar, which has 10 grams of protein and 7 grams of fiber, and a whole serving of superfoods.
Considering OLLY Protein Bars are low in sugar, made of natural flavors, feature plant based protein, are Non-GMO, are gluten free, and contain no artificial sweeteners, they really make a great, healthy pick for a snack.
I’m not really missing candy bars, because these are pretty close to being able to eat one!
As soon as 3pm rolls around here we get pretty snack ready, and OLLY Protein Bars are our new favorite go-to in the office!
I bet you will love them too, and you can buy them for yourself here!
