Netflix Is Raising Their Prices But Who Cares I’ll Pay It
In case your credit card statement hasn’t told you already, let me inform you. Netflix is raising their U.S. prices (and then their stock price soared after they announced this, interestingly enough). Here’s the new breakdown for you:
The basic plan is going from $7.99 to $8.99 per month
The HD quality plan is going from $10.99 to $12.99 per month
The ultra HD plan is going from $13.99 to $15.99 per month
Who honestly cares. I’ll pay it. Take my money. Their content is that good.
Pretty Much Nobody Is Investing In VR Anymore
VR was all the rage a year ago, and even several years before that. At the high, $253 million dollars were put forth by investors into startups based around augmented reality and VR in Orange and LA counties alone back in 2016.
Lately, pretty much nobody is investing in VR anymore. The PwC/CB Insights MoneyTree Report indicates that only $24.7 million dollars were invested in both California counties last year. That’s an astounding decrease.
Someone Else At The Top Is Walking Away From Snap & I’m Not Surprised
Snapchat, hey, what on earth is going on over there? In news that’s not surprising anyone, someone else at the top of the company just walked away. That someone is CFO Tim Stone. He’s spent less than a year in his role.
It’s proving hard for Snapchat to hold onto anyone at the top, as the list of executives that have recently resigned exponentially grows. Imran Khan, their Chief Strategy Officer, resigned in September. Nick Bell, their VP of Content, packed his bags in November. Jason Halbert, Head of HR, is also leaving, as per this week.
Elon Musk Loves China, So They’re Giving Him A Green Card
In tech news that does come as a surprise to pretty much everyone, Elon Musk loves China, so they’re giving him a green card. Chinese Premier Li Keqiang met with Elon Musk, and according to China’s government website, Elon was offered Chinese permanent residency.
Elon is building a new Tesla factory in Shanghai, and it’s going to be the first factory the car maker has outside of America. “I love China and want to come here more often,” Gov.cn reports Elon said in the meeting.
“If you do, we can issue you a Chinese green card,” the premier was quoted as replying to him.
