So, you know how Alice falls down the rabbit hole and ends up in Wonderland? Now imagine she ended up falling into the Red Keep, and you start to get an idea of what these two artists were going for.
Sam Tsui‘s The Wonderful World of Westeros series has been kicking around the internet for a while, but Anderson Mahanski of Combo Estúdio has given us a more recent take, drawing a handful of Game of Thrones characters Disney style.
It’s a natural fit. If you go through Disney’s illustrious animated catalog, you’ll find no less treachery, intrigue, and heartbreaking deaths than your average season of Game of Thrones.
Well, alright, maybe the heroes have much better survival odds in Disney movies, but if Mufasa’s death didn’t hit you as hard as Ned’s, I don’t know what to tell you.
If nothing else, I can think of more than a few Disney villains who would do just fine in Westeros. Unfortunately, today’s collections are short on Disney villains — someone needs to get on that.
We need our Maleficent/Daenerys ultimate dragon queen combo.
