Shedding Tears Means Shedding Pounds: Crying Apparently Helps You Lose Weight & Here Are The Best Times To Be Letting It All Out

Well this is news to me!

Alright ladies, buckle up for this bit of news.

Shedding tears now means shedding pounds.

Apparently crying helps you lose weight, according to a new study.

And there’s even an optimal time to cry (we’ll get to that in a bit).

Dr. Aaron Neufeld from the Los Altos Optometric group is the man we can thank for this strange but true new fact that he revealed to AsiaOne.

So why does letting your mascara run help you with your waistline?

It pretty much comes down to Cortisol.

Cortisol is a hormone that helps to regulate a lot of processes going on in your body, including your metabolism.

All the hormones that come along with crying help to increase your Cortisol.

On the flip side, if you’re the type of person who likes to bottle up emotions when you suppress them you also reduce Cortisol.

If there ever was an excuse to let your emotions out, here it is!

You can’t fake it though; your tears need to be genuine to get in on these pound shedding benefits.

Oh, and scientists advise that you should have a good cry from 7 to 10 at night.

So get ready to Netflix, chill, and sob!
