It’s the end of an era: the iconic Victoria’s Secret fashion show has been canceled, and I can’t say I’m surprised.
With production costs estimates of Victoria’s Secret fashion show in the double-digit million range, that’s a lot of money to blow on a company that’s simply not performing for shareholders.
Don’t get me wrong, my years spent working for them were the highlight of my existence in corporate America, and the female bosses I had there were some of the best people I’ve ever worked with (shoutout to Anne, Kecia, and Jacqueline if you’re reading this).
This is definitely a topic close to my heart, as I absolutely loved that job and I’ve spent the majority of my career in the fashion industry.
I’m not surprised it’s over, because what VS has come to stand for is, well, really outdated.
