Social media is one of the most powerful forms of technology.
I feel like the theme of the year is that people don’t really understand just how important or impactful their words can be when they choose to post them online.
Well, this 12-year-old girl from Florida just learned that everything you post can and will be taken seriously.
Her name is not being released given that she is a minor, but here’s what she did, and I’m sure you won’t think being arrested was too harsh.
This girl took to Snapchat to post a death list, and she went on to make several threats to the Falcon Cove Middle School and their students.
In a statement, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office said:
This is definitely a scary thing to hear about, and it’s an important reminder to always be aware of what your child is doing online.
