Brace Yourselves America, Because A French Fry Shortage Is Upon Us

Do you want fries with that?

So, I hate to break the bad news to you, but you might not be able to order fries with everything in the near future.

We’re about to potentially hit a french fry crisis here in America, and actually also in Canada, because it’s been one poor year to be a potato.

Due to an increase in cold weather around October which just isn’t normal, potatoes just haven’t been growing as well as they normally do.

There’s a much smaller potato crop than usual because of the cold snap, and the price of potatoes is expected to go up.

The United States Department of Agriculture expects there to be a 6.1% decrease this year for potatoes, but no news on what that means as we head into 2020.

Honestly, we haven’t had a shortage like this since 2010, but back then some farmers were able to protect their better potatoes from the weather so it wasn’t so bad.

New decade, no fries? What a shame!

This also totally throws a wrench into the ideology of fries before guys.
