Stolen Dog Travels 2,000 Miles To Get Home To His Family For The Holidays

“The friend was apprehended in Nitro, and when he was arrested Zeus was still with him.”

Kanawha Charleston Humane Association picked Zeus up and found that he was microchipped.

It wasn’t long before they were able to find out who his mom was and see that Zeus was approximately 2,000 miles from home.

Since Zeus weighs in at 73 pounds, Chelsea said he was just too big to hop a flight home.

So, Chelsea reached out to Many Paws Volunteer Transport, asking if they could help drive Zeus the 2,000 miles back home.

30 volunteers from Many Paws Volunteer Transport kindly donated their time and cars to help Zeus travel pretty much clear across the country.

It took four days, but Zeus made it home on Monday evening, and his family is overjoyed that he made it in time to spend the holidays with them!
