This ‘Bachelor’ Contestant Won A $1 Million Dollar DraftKings Contest And Is Now Being Stripped Of Her Winnings

You might remember 33-year-old Jade Roper Tolbert making appearances on The Bachelor as well as Bachelor in Paradise.

She is married to Tanner Tolbert, whom she met on Bachelor in Paradise 2 and the two tied the knot on national television.

Now, Jade is in the center of a pretty big cheating scandal, and she recently got $1 million dollars taken away from her over it.

Alright, what on earth am I talking about? DraftKings recently held a fantasy sports contest called “Millionaire Maker.”

In the contest, you have to I guess pick certain NFL players from four of the wild-card games and to be honest with you I don’t understand how you win because this stuff is so far over my head.

But Jade won the $1 million dollar contest..and has since been stripped of her winnings.

According to the rules of the DraftKings contest, “Team-building complementary lineups which serve to work together AND executing a strategy that may create any unfair advantage over individual play. (Example A: You and 2 of your friends coordinate the makeup of the lineups you build AND coordinate which contests you enter using them.)”

I can understand those rules, and so apparently people are now saying that Jade beat out over 100,00 other entries to win and the speculation is that she and her husband Tanner both put in for the 150 maximum entries allowed in the contest.

In each of their entries, they picked very different players, so it looks like Jade and Tanner did possibly collude to win, though the couple maintains their innocence.

DraftKings released a statement to E! News, “The DraftKings compliance team reviews the results of all major contests to ensure they comply with our Terms of Use and applicable state regulations. We take the integrity and fairness of our DFS contests seriously, and prizes are not paid out until our reviews are complete.”

And Tanner spoke to Entertainment Tonight saying that he and Jade do “respect” DraftKings investigating the whole situation.

“Though we must ponder, would the questions, accusations and curiosity about this win be the same if the winner had been male and someone who wasn’t already in the public eye? It is incredibly important for us to establish that Jade’s win is nothing more than pure luck and we are confident that DraftKings will determine the same.”

And now, DraftKings has announced as of yesterday a new winner, but they didn’t provide any kind of explanation, so it looks like Jade and Tanner were guilty of collusion.
