Derrick Nnadi is a defensive tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs, and he and his team won the Super Bowl last night.
At 6’1 and 317 pounds, you might think Derrick is one tough guy…but he actually has quite a soft side.
To celebrate his Super Bowl win, Derrick is paying off the adoption fees for the lucky dogs at KC Pet Project in Kansas City. The shelter shared the exciting news on Facebook with this post:

“KC WINS! We are so excited to announce that the Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle, Derrick Nnadi is choosing to celebrate the Super Bowl win by paying for the adoptions of all the adoptable dogs currently at KC Pet Project!”
“We have had an amazing, season-long, partnership with Derrick and he couldn’t have thought of a better ending.”
“This partnership has been sponsored by the Derrick Nnadi Foundation.”
Derrick paid for the adoption fees for over 100 of the dogs at KC Pet Project. Considering these pooches usually come with adoption fees in the range of $75 to $300.

As of right now, there are 117 dogs on the website and if you do the math, Derrick most likely donated $8,775 to $35,000.
This is hardly the first time Derrick has so generously donated to the shelter, though.
All season long, Derrick pledged to pay off a dog’s adoption fee if the Chiefs won their games, and the team won 15 times. How sweet is that?
